La marque Freelander, relanc\u00e9e conjointement par Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) et le constructeur chinois Chery, a officiellement confirm\u00e9 que l'Allemagne, la Belgique et les Pays-Bas figuraient parmi ses march\u00e9s cibles europ\u00e9ens.<\/p>\n

\n

Mais le Freelander 8 destin\u00e9 au march\u00e9 international sera tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent de la puissante version chinoise : la capacit\u00e9 de sa batterie est pratiquement r\u00e9duite de moiti\u00e9, tandis que sa puissance passe de 818 \u00e0 617 hp.<\/p>\n

Comme nous selon une information parue en avril<\/a>, le Land Rover Freelander d'origine fait son retour en tant que marque autonome de SUV haut de gamme fabriqu\u00e9s en Chine. Depuis, le premier mod\u00e8le, l'imposant Freelander 8 de 5,12 m\u00e8tres, a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en vente en Chine, tandis que Chery et JLR ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 leurs projets d'expansion \u00e0 l'international.<\/p>\n

L'Europe est concern\u00e9e, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, la Belgique, les Pays-Bas, la Suisse et l'Espagne \u00e9tant explicitement cit\u00e9es. L'Allemagne pourrait accueillir ce nouveau mod\u00e8le en 2027, tandis que la presse automobile n\u00e9erlandaise avait pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment \u00e9voqu\u00e9 la fin de l'ann\u00e9e 2027 pour les Pays-Bas. Les dates officielles de lancement au Benelux restent \u00e0 confirmer.<\/p>\n

Une batterie plus petite, un moteur diff\u00e9rent<\/h4>\n

La diff\u00e9rence la plus frappante concerne la motorisation. En Chine, le Freelander 8 est \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019un prolongateur d\u2019autonomie \u00e0 essence de 1,5 litre et de deux moteurs \u00e9lectriques d\u00e9veloppant une puissance combin\u00e9e de 610 kW (818 ch). Sa batterie CATL d\u2019une capacit\u00e9 importante de 60,3 kWh offre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 310 km d\u2019autonomie en mode \u00e9lectrique selon le cycle CLTC chinois, r\u00e9put\u00e9 optimiste.<\/p>\n

Pour la version internationale \u00e0 conduite \u00e0 gauche d\u00e9voil\u00e9e \u00e0 Abu Dhabi, Chery a opt\u00e9 pour un moteur hybride turbocompress\u00e9 de 2,0 litres et une batterie au lithium-fer-phosphate (LFP) nettement plus petite, d'une capacit\u00e9 de 34,12 kWh.<\/p>\n

La puissance combin\u00e9e tombe \u00e0 460 kW (617 ch), avec un couple de 662 Nm. L'acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration de 0 \u00e0 100 km\/h prend 5,8 secondes au lieu de 4,6 secondes. Chery annonce une autonomie \u00e9lectrique de 110 km et une autonomie combin\u00e9e de 886 km, bien que les chiffres europ\u00e9ens selon le cycle WLTP ne soient pas encore disponibles.<\/p>\n

Le mod\u00e8le international prend en charge une recharge en courant alternatif de 11 kW et une recharge rapide en courant continu de 20 \u00e0 80% en moins de 20 minutes. Ces caract\u00e9ristiques techniques s'appliquent actuellement \u00e0 la version destin\u00e9e au Moyen-Orient. Chery n'a pas encore confirm\u00e9 si le mod\u00e8le europ\u00e9en disposera d'une configuration identique.<\/p>\n

Un v\u00e9ritable 4x4<\/h4>\n

Malgr\u00e9 son \u00e9lectrification, le Freelander 8 est con\u00e7u pour offrir bien plus qu'un simple style SUV tendance. Son syst\u00e8me intelligent de transmission int\u00e9grale propose neuf modes de conduite, tandis que la suspension pneumatique \u00e0 double chambre et l'amortissement adaptatif offrent une garde au sol pouvant atteindre 266 mm.<\/p>\n

Chery annonce \u00e9galement une profondeur de passage \u00e0 gu\u00e9 de 900 mm et une capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 franchir des pentes de 70%. Le mod\u00e8le europ\u00e9en devrait proposer cinq places, contrairement \u00e0 la configuration optionnelle \u00e0 six places de la version chinoise. Une version enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectrique pourrait suivre ult\u00e9rieurement, mais son lancement en Europe n'est pas encore confirm\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Un d\u00e9but prometteur en Chine<\/h4>\n

Le Freelander 8 a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement lanc\u00e9 en Chine le 3 septembre. Les premi\u00e8res r\u00e9actions se sont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9es encourageantes : Chery a annonc\u00e9 avoir re\u00e7u plus de 5 000 commandes fermes en l'espace de douze heures, apr\u00e8s avoir enregistr\u00e9 plus de 10 000 r\u00e9servations au cours des 48 premi\u00e8res heures de pr\u00e9vente.<\/p>\n

Les livraisons aux clients devaient d\u00e9buter le 19 septembre, m\u00eame si l'on ne dispose pas encore de chiffres fiables concernant les immatriculations pour \u00e9valuer le succ\u00e8s de ce mod\u00e8le \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>\n

Les prix promotionnels en Chine commencent \u00e0 289 900 yuans (35 000 \u20ac) et vont jusqu'\u00e0 379 900 yuans (46 000 \u20ac). Le mod\u00e8le europ\u00e9en co\u00fbtera in\u00e9vitablement beaucoup plus cher.<\/p>\n

Un prix d'entr\u00e9e de gamme indicatif compris entre 55 000 et 65 000 \u20ac en Belgique, potentiellement un peu plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 aux Pays-Bas, semble plausible, mais il s'agit l\u00e0 d'une estimation de la r\u00e9daction et non d'un prix officiel.<\/p>\n

Patrimoine britannique, technologie chinoise<\/h4>\n

Le Freelander illustre \u00e0 quel point l'industrie automobile a radicalement chang\u00e9. JLR apporte le nom britannique historique et son savoir-faire en mati\u00e8re de design, tandis que Chery assure une grande partie de l'ing\u00e9nierie, de la technologie \u00e9lectrique, de la fabrication et de la cha\u00eene d'approvisionnement.<\/p>\n

Il est important de noter que le nouveau Freelander fonctionnera ind\u00e9pendamment du r\u00e9seau de concessionnaires Land Rover existant. Aux Pays-Bas, le r\u00e9seau de distribution de Chery devrait jouer un r\u00f4le \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard.<\/p>\n

Chery dispose d\u00e9j\u00e0 d'un r\u00e9seau belge bien \u00e9tabli de vente et de service apr\u00e8s-vente gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses marques Omoda et Jaecoo, ce qui pourrait constituer une infrastructure toute pr\u00eate pour le lancement du Freelander.<\/p>\n

Toutefois, on ignore encore si cette nouvelle marque haut de gamme fera appel \u00e0 ces concessionnaires ou si elle mettra en place un r\u00e9seau de distribution distinct, ind\u00e9pendant \u00e0 la fois des marques existantes de Chery et de Land Rover.<\/p>\n

Un moment politiquement d\u00e9licat<\/h4>\n

Les ambitions europ\u00e9ennes du Freelander interviennent \u00e9galement \u00e0 un moment politiquement d\u00e9licat. Alors que les hybrides rechargeables fabriqu\u00e9s en Chine \u00e9chappent actuellement aux droits de douane suppl\u00e9mentaires impos\u00e9s par l\u2019UE sur les voitures 100 % \u00e9lectriques, Bruxelles s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 \u00e9ventuelles restrictions sur les importations de v\u00e9hicules hybrides chinois<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Suite au refus de la Chine de limiter volontairement ses exportations, la Commission europ\u00e9enne envisagerait, selon certaines informations, de mettre en place des mesures de sauvegarde combinant des quotas d'importation et des droits de douane suppl\u00e9mentaires.<\/p>\n

Le Freelander 8 devant arriver sur le march\u00e9 europ\u00e9en en 2027, son prix comp\u00e9titif pourrait d\u00e9pendre en partie de l'issue de ces n\u00e9gociations.
