Au cours d'une vaste op\u00e9ration de lutte contre la distraction au volant, la police belge a relev\u00e9 2 564 infractions commises par des conducteurs utilisant un t\u00e9l\u00e9phone portable ou un autre appareil mobile.<\/p>\n

Selon la police, la distraction au volant est l'un des principaux facteurs de risque sur la route. M\u00eame quelques secondes de distraction peuvent provoquer un accident.<\/p>\n

Les 8 et 9 octobre, la Police routi\u00e8re f\u00e9d\u00e9rale et 127 commissariats de police locaux ont une nouvelle fois men\u00e9 leur campagne \u201c Focus on the Road \u201d. Au total, 947 agents ont effectu\u00e9 des contr\u00f4les sur 226 sites fixes et mobiles \u00e0 travers toute la Belgique.<\/p>\n

Outre les infractions li\u00e9es \u00e0 l'utilisation du t\u00e9l\u00e9phone portable, la police a recens\u00e9 250 infractions li\u00e9es \u00e0 d'autres formes de distraction, telles que la lecture, le maquillage ou la manipulation d'objets. Elle a dress\u00e9 au total 3 122 proc\u00e8s-verbaux ou avertissements, et pas uniquement pour des cas de distraction. Par ailleurs, la police a proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 941 retraits imm\u00e9diats de permis de conduire.<\/p>\n

\u201c Restez concentr\u00e9 sur la route \u201d<\/h4>\n

L'Agence wallonne de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re (AWSR) a \u00e9galement lanc\u00e9 une campagne de sensibilisation aux dangers de l'utilisation du t\u00e9l\u00e9phone au volant : pr\u00e8s de 42% de Wallons se sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 retrouv\u00e9s dans une situation \u00e0 risque apr\u00e8s avoir utilis\u00e9 leur t\u00e9l\u00e9phone au volant, un chiffre qui atteint 65% chez les 18-34 ans<\/p>\n

De plus, cela ne concerne pas uniquement les smartphones : le nombre et la diversit\u00e9 des \u00e9crans dans les voitures ne cessent d'augmenter (smartphones, \u00e9crans embarqu\u00e9s, montres connect\u00e9es, lunettes connect\u00e9es, etc.), tout comme les risques de distraction.<\/p>\n

Selon l'AWSR, cette tendance est particuli\u00e8rement marqu\u00e9e chez les jeunes, qui sont plus susceptibles de poss\u00e9der ce type de technologie et de l'utiliser au volant.<\/p>\n

Dans le cadre de cette campagne, une op\u00e9ration promotionnelle intitul\u00e9e \u201c smartphone pirat\u00e9 \u201d est \u00e9galement organis\u00e9e en partenariat avec Orange. Les smartphones expos\u00e9s dans un point de vente ont \u00e9t\u00e9 modifi\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 lancer un appel vid\u00e9o d\u00e8s qu\u2019on les prend en main.<\/p>\n

Les clients venus tester leurs futurs t\u00e9l\u00e9phones se sont ainsi retrouv\u00e9s impliqu\u00e9s dans un accident virtuel provoqu\u00e9 par l'utilisation d'un t\u00e9l\u00e9phone au volant. Leurs r\u00e9actions sont visibles dans une vid\u00e9o disponible sur le site web d'AWSR.<\/p>\n

Les smartphones constituent \u00e9galement une source de distraction<\/h4>\n

La campagne met \u00e9galement l'accent sur les montres connect\u00e9es. Comme le fait de porter une montre connect\u00e9e au poignet semble moins risqu\u00e9 que d'utiliser un smartphone, la campagne souligne que cela affecte tout de m\u00eame la concentration, ce qui entra\u00eene un ralentissement des temps de r\u00e9action, une attention moindre port\u00e9e \u00e0 la route et un risque accru d'accidents.<\/p>\n

Il convient \u00e9galement de noter que toute personne qui traverse la rue \u00e0 pied en regardant son t\u00e9l\u00e9phone \u2013 ce qui n'est pas interdit par la loi \u2013 est \u00e9galement distraite. Il est interdit de tenir un t\u00e9l\u00e9phone \u00e0 la main lorsqu'on circule \u00e0 v\u00e9lo ou en trottinette \u00e9lectrique, tout comme c'est le cas pour les conducteurs.<\/p>\n

L'AWSR souligne que la plupart des smartphones proposent un mode permettant de d\u00e9sactiver ou de limiter les notifications et les alertes au volant. Il est \u00e9galement possible de configurer un message automatique informant vos contacts que vous \u00eates au volant. \u201d<\/p>\n
