Apr\u00e8s une premi\u00e8re tentative infructueuse de conqu\u00e9rir le march\u00e9 europ\u00e9en, le constructeur chinois Great Wall Motor (GWM) tente \u00e0 nouveau sa chance.<\/p>\n

Elle lancera la production automobile en Bulgarie au premier trimestre 2027, pr\u00e9voit de commercialiser 10 nouveaux mod\u00e8les en l'espace de deux ans et compte s'implanter sur plusieurs march\u00e9s europ\u00e9ens, dont la Belgique.<\/p>\n

GWM est pr\u00e9sent sur le march\u00e9 europ\u00e9en depuis 2006, date \u00e0 laquelle elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 commercialiser ses mod\u00e8les chinois en Italie. L'entreprise a m\u00eame lanc\u00e9 sa production en Europe en 2012, mais en 2016, son partenaire de production bulgare a fait faillite.<\/p>\n

GWM a poursuivi ses ventes, et par l'interm\u00e9diaire de sa Ora et Wey <\/a><\/span>mod\u00e8les<\/span><\/a>, elle s'est m\u00eame essay\u00e9e \u00e0 une expansion europ\u00e9enne. Mais ces projets ont \u00e9chou\u00e9, et la marque a m\u00eame a ferm\u00e9 son si\u00e8ge europ\u00e9en<\/a>, ce qui a mis un frein \u00e0 la poursuite de son expansion en Europe. En 2025, elle n'a vendu qu'environ 3 500 voitures en Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deuxi\u00e8me tentative, y compris la Belgique<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n

Mais aujourd\u2019hui, GWM est de retour, avec des ambitions europ\u00e9ennes renouvel\u00e9es. Des ambitions d\u00e9mesur\u00e9es. Apr\u00e8s avoir vendu 3 500 voitures en 2025, le constructeur souhaite en vendre environ 60 000 en 2027 ! De plus, l'entreprise s'est fix\u00e9 pour objectif de vendre 300 000 v\u00e9hicules sur le Vieux Continent d'ici 2029. Et cela signifie \u00e9videmment qu'elle relance ses projets d'expansion sur d'autres march\u00e9s europ\u00e9ens.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 l'heure actuelle, GWM est pr\u00e9sent en Italie et en Espagne. Suite \u00e0 sa pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente tentative de perc\u00e9e sur le march\u00e9 europ\u00e9en avec le mod\u00e8le \u00e9lectrique Ora et le mod\u00e8le hybride rechargeable Wey, le constructeur dispose d\u00e9j\u00e0 d'un r\u00e9seau de distribution en Allemagne, au Royaume-Uni et en Su\u00e8de, entre autres.<\/p>\n

Pour 2027, la mise en place d'une structure en Belgique est \u00e0 l'\u00e9tude, \u00e9ventuellement en collaboration avec les Pays-Bas et le Luxembourg. Le constructeur chinois g\u00e8re d\u00e9j\u00e0 son organisation commerciale europ\u00e9enne depuis la ville n\u00e9erlandaise d'Eindhoven, sans pour autant \u00eatre pr\u00e9sent sur le march\u00e9 n\u00e9erlandais.<\/p>\n

Mais dans un premier temps, l'Autriche, la R\u00e9publique tch\u00e8que, la Roumanie, la Hongrie et la Gr\u00e8ce se lanceront au cours du premier trimestre de l'ann\u00e9e, suivies par la France et la Suisse au deuxi\u00e8me trimestre.<\/p>\n

Production en Bulgarie<\/b><\/h4>\n

Afin de fournir les v\u00e9hicules n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 son expansion europ\u00e9enne et d'\u00e9viter les droits de douane \u00e9lev\u00e9s sur les importations chinoises, GWM r\u00e9organise sa production en Bulgarie. Bien que Litex Motors, l'entreprise bulgare avec laquelle GWM s'\u00e9tait associ\u00e9e en 2012, ait fait faillite en 2016, l'usine de production est toujours en activit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

GWM s'associe d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 l'industrie automobile bulgare (BAI), qui a repris l'usine existante de Bahovitsa, pr\u00e8s de Lovech. Une capacit\u00e9 de production de 50 000 v\u00e9hicules par an est pr\u00e9vue, et la production d\u00e9butera au premier trimestre 2027.<\/p>\n

Par le pass\u00e9, GWM avait \u00e9galement envisag\u00e9 l'Espagne et la Hongrie pour sa production europ\u00e9enne, des pays qui pourraient \u00eatre les prochains sur la liste pour contribuer \u00e0 l'objectif de 300 000 unit\u00e9s en 2029.<\/p>\n

Si GWM peut d\u00e9marrer la production aussi rapidement en Bulgarie, ce n\u2019est pas uniquement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019exp\u00e9rience acquise pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment dans cette usine. Le fait que les v\u00e9hicules soient assembl\u00e9s \u00e0 partir de kits semi-d\u00e9mont\u00e9s y contribue \u00e9galement.<\/p>\n

Dans le cadre de ce processus, des v\u00e9hicules semi-assembl\u00e9s en provenance de Chine sont achemin\u00e9s vers l'usine en Bulgarie pour y subir l'assemblage final. Mais GWM s'approvisionne \u00e9galement en certaines pi\u00e8ces sur place. Il reste \u00e0 voir quelles seront les r\u00e9percussions tarifaires.<\/p>\n

10 nouveaux mod\u00e8les<\/b><\/h4>\n

Contrairement \u00e0 sa premi\u00e8re tentative de conqu\u00eate du march\u00e9 europ\u00e9en avec des mod\u00e8les \u00e9lectriques et hybrides rechargeables, GWM vise d\u00e9sormais une gamme compl\u00e8te, comprenant des mod\u00e8les essence, diesel et hybrides, en plus des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques (PH)EV. De plus, ces mod\u00e8les seront d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s en tenant compte du march\u00e9 europ\u00e9en et mis au point au centre de R&D de la marque \u00e0 Munich afin de r\u00e9pondre aux attentes des clients europ\u00e9ens.<\/p>\n

Aujourd'hui, la marque commercialise plusieurs mod\u00e8les, notamment la compacte \u00e9lectrique Ora 03 (anciennement connue sous le nom d'Ora Cat) et la fastback \u00e9lectrique 07, ainsi que les SUV hybrides rechargeables Wey 03 et 05. R\u00e9cemment, les SUV multi-\u00e9nergies Ora 5 et H7 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9s \u00e0 la gamme.<\/p>\n

Mais pour soutenir son expansion, dix nouveaux mod\u00e8les devraient \u00eatre lanc\u00e9s au cours des deux prochaines ann\u00e9es. Parmi eux figurent le Tank 300, un 4\u00d74 \u00e0 ch\u00e2ssis s\u00e9par\u00e9 et carrosserie robuste, \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019un moteur diesel et d\u2019une motorisation hybride rechargeable, ainsi que le pick-up P500, dot\u00e9 de motorisations similaires.<\/p>\n
