De noodlijdende Zweedse accufabrikant Northvolt heeft van zijn aandeelhouders de kritische steun gekregen om zijn activiteiten in eigen land voort te zetten. Een positieve stem onderstreept het vertrouwen van de aandeelhouders van belangrijke partners zoals Volkswagen terwijl de acculeverancier probeert te herstructureren en op zoek is naar extra financiering om zijn bedrijf overeind te houden.<\/p>

Northvolt, ooit een baken van Europa's aspiraties voor een eigen batterijketen om de Chinese dominantie te evenaren, heeft de afgelopen maanden onder steeds grotere druk gestaan. Nadat het bedrijf in november vorig jaar in de VS faillissementsbescherming door Chapter 11 aanvroeg, onthulde het een schuld van 58,2 miljard euro.
