Welke inspanningen de luchtvaartsector ook doet om de klimaatdoelstellingen te halen, de voorspelde groei van het luchtverkeer zal tevergeefs zijn, meldt Transport & Environment in een nieuw rapport, een screening van de Europese milieudoelstellingen voor het luchtverkeer. Volgens de NGO moet de EU maatregelen ontwikkelen om de groei van het luchtverkeer te reguleren om de CO2-uitstoot in de sector effectief te verminderen.<\/p>

T&E's findings are not new. Several years ago, the International Civil Aviation Organization stated in a study that CO2 emissions from aviation would double or even triple by 2050 compared to 2015 without additional measures.
