Volgens de Belgische zakenkrant De Tijd<\/a>, De Oostenrijkse energie- en chemiereus OMV heeft vergevorderde plannen om een raffinaderij te bouwen in de haven van Antwerpen.<\/p>

In de Kallo-fabriek kunnen afvalstromen zoals afgewerkte frituurolie en andere plantaardige of dierlijke vetten uit de voedsel- en landbouwsector worden omgezet in duurzame vliegtuigbrandstof, bekend als SAF. Er zijn momenteel enorme tekorten aan deze biobrandstof om de begroetingsdoelstellingen te halen.<\/p>
