Een grote autoschip vol met duizenden voertuigen, waaronder enkele honderden elektrische en hybride modellen, drijft en smeult nog steeds in de Stille Oceaan. Er brak een brand uit aan boord - een incident dat opnieuw de aandacht vestigt op de groeiende veiligheidszorgen rond het vervoer van elektrische voertuigen over zee.<\/p>

De Morning Midas, een Ro-Ro schip dat onder Liberiaanse vlag vaart, was onderweg van Yantai, China, naar Mexico toen er voor het eerst rook werd gedetecteerd op een van de laaddekken met elektrische auto's.
