Op dinsdag,\u00a0De werkzaamheden voor de installatie van een walstroominstallatie in de cruiseterminal aan de Zweedse kade in Zeebrugge (Belgi\u00eb) zijn begonnen. <\/span>In de nabije toekomst kunnen cruiseschepen overstappen op\u00a0<\/span>hun vervuilende dieselgeneratoren uit te schakelen en volledig gebruik te maken van walstroom. <\/span><\/p>

Walstroom is een milieuvriendelijke en stille manier voor schepen om aan te meren. Het stelt schepen in staat om op het lokale elektriciteitsnet aan te sluiten en hun dieselgeneratoren aan boord uit te schakelen, waardoor bronnen van CO\u2082, stikstofoxiden, zwaveloxiden en deeltjesemissies worden ge\u00eblimineerd terwijl ze aangemeerd liggen. <\/span>Met dit project wil de haven de overlast voor bewoners en passagiers beperken. <\/span><\/p>
