Volgens de NGO Transport & Environment hebben Europese autofabrikanten in de eerste zeven maanden van het jaar 38% meer elektrische auto's verkocht, waardoor ze op Mercedes-Benz na allemaal op schema liggen om te voldoen aan de emissiedoelstellingen van de EU voor 2025-27, zo blijkt uit nieuw onderzoek van T&E.<\/p>

De verlenging van de doelstellingen met twee jaar stelde autofabrikanten echter in staat om de voet van het gaspedaal te halen en zal ertoe leiden dat er tussen 2025 en 2027 2 miljoen minder elektrische auto's worden verkocht dan onder de oorspronkelijke deadline. T&E roept de Europese Commissie op om voet bij stuk te houden wat betreft de doelstellingen voor 2030 en 2035 als er aanstaande vrijdag een strategische dialoog plaatsvindt over de toekomst van de auto-industrie (EU-Commissievoorzitter Ursula von der Leyen zal een ontmoeting hebben met de Europese auto-industrie).<\/p>
