In zijn laatste rapport gepubliceerd op woensdag<\/a>, concludeert de International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) dat Europa goed op weg is om zijn doelstellingen voor voertuigemissies op de korte tot middellange termijn te halen. Volgens het rapport is er slechts een relatief kleine verdere vermindering van de CO\u2082-uitstoot van het wagenpark \u2013 zo\u2019n 9 gram CO\u2082\/km \u2013 nodig om de tussentijdse doelstelling voor 2027 te halen.<\/p>

\"De elektrificatie in de EU ligt niet alleen op schema, maar komt zelfs in een stroomversnelling\", zo verklaarde Peter Mock, algemeen directeur van ICCT Berlijn, tegenover het Duitse persbureau dpa. Volgens het ICCT is de EU inmiddels een netto-exporteur van volledig elektrische voertuigen (BEV\u2019s) geworden en is zij de op \u00e9\u00e9n na grootste producent van elektrische voertuigen ter wereld. In de eerste helft van 2025 bereikten BEV\u2019s in Europa een recordmarktaandeel van gemiddeld 17 procent.<\/p>
