Het door Amazon gesteunde Zoox heeft deze week officieel zijn autonome robottaxidienst gelanceerd op de Las Vegas Strip, wat een nieuwe mijlpaal is in de taxi-industrie. Wat deze lancering anders maakt, is dat Zoox het eerste bedrijf is dat volledig bestuurderloze ritten aanbiedt aan het publiek in een speciaal gebouwd autonoom voertuig.<\/p>

Voorlopig zijn alle ritten gratis en kunnen ze geboekt worden via de Zoox app, met ophaalpunten op bekende bestemmingen in Las Vegas. De dienst is actief in een speciale ride-hail zone rond de Strip, met plannen om uit te breiden over de hele stad in de komende maanden.
