Volgens een recent Zwitsers onderzoek dat begin september werd gepubliceerd in het wetenschappelijke tijdschrift Nature, zou bijna een kwart van de hittegolven \u2018vrijwel onmogelijk\u2019 zijn geweest zonder de opwarming van de aarde en kan dit worden toegeschreven aan de uitstoot van individuele energieproducenten. Met andere woorden, sommige recente hittegolven zouden nooit hebben plaatsgevonden zonder de uitstoot van een paar grote fossiele brandstof- en cementbedrijven.<\/p>
