Er komt voorlopig geen evaluatie van de lage-emissiezone (LEZ) in Gent. Dat zegt onder meer Filip Watteeuw (Groen), schepen van Klimaat en Leefmilieu. Volgens Watteeuw is er momenteel te veel rechtsonzekerheid, waardoor de stad niet kan en wil beslissen om de LEZ te evalueren en eventueel bij te sturen.<\/p>

De Vlaamse overheid onlangs besloten<\/a> de LEZ in Antwerpen en Gent niet aan te scherpen vanaf 2026. Voertuigen zoals Euro 5 diesel en Euro 2 benzine voertuigen zullen daarom toegestaan blijven in 2026. Het besluit moet echter nog worden goedgekeurd door de betrokken adviesraden en de Raad van State.<\/p>
