Een nieuwe studie van de Franse Instituut voor Mobiliteit in Transitie (IMT) <\/a>werpt nieuwe twijfel op over de toekomst van plug-in hybride voertuigen (PHEV's) en stelt dat het voortzetten van de verkoop ervan in Europa na 2035 zowel de huishoudbudgetten als de klimaatambities van het continent zou schaden.<\/p>

Uit het onderzoek blijkt dat plug-in hybrides voor kopers van nieuwe voertuigen gedurende hun levensduur ongeveer 7% meer kosten dan vergelijkbare batterij-elektrische voertuigen (BEV's). Voor kopers van gebruikte auto's \u2013 de meerderheid van de huishoudens met een laag of gemiddeld inkomen \u2013 loopt het verschil op tot gemiddeld 18% en in sommige gebruiksprofielen zelfs tot bijna 30%.<\/p>
