Na 50 jaar actief te zijn geweest jaren werd de kerncentrale Doel 2, aan de oevers van de Schelde, zondagavond definitief stilgelegd. <\/span>Het is de vijfde Belgische reactor die wordt uitgeschakeld, na Doel 1 en 3 en Tihange 1 en 2.<\/span><\/p>

Doel 3 was disconnected in 2022, Tihange 2 was shut down in 2023, Doel 1 in February this year, and Tihange 1 in October. Only the 'youngest' reactors, <\/span>Doel 4 en Tihange 3 blijven nog tien jaar in bedrijf, tot 2035.<\/span><\/p>
