Tijdens de eerste zes maanden van vorig jaar registreerde de federale politie in Belgi\u00eb 5.028.562 verkeersovertredingen. Dat is een absoluut record, want het zijn er meer dan 436.000 meer dan in dezelfde periode twee jaar geleden. In vergelijking met 2017 is dat zelfs een verdubbeling.<\/p>

Bijna 4,2 miljoen van de geregistreerde verkeersovertredingen hadden betrekking op te hard rijden. In bijna 20.000 gevallen werd een bestuurder betrapt op het rijden met meer dan 40 km\/u boven de maximumsnelheid. Overtredingen van de regels voor stoppen en parkeren, het gebruik van een mobiele telefoon en het negeren van verkeerslichten of verbodsborden staan ook hoog op de lijst.<\/p>
