Bentley, het luxe topmerk van Volkswagen, is van plan 275 banen te schrappen (6% van het personeelsbestand). Het bedrijfsresultaat is gedaald van 373 miljoen euro naar 216 miljoen euro (-42,1%).<\/p>\n

De fabrikant rechtvaardigt deze beslissing door te verwijzen naar de Amerikaanse invoertarieven onder de regering-Trump, de dalende verkoopcijfers in China en de matige vraag naar elektrische voertuigen. Dat laatste argument is enigszins vreemd, aangezien Bentley nog geen elektrische auto produceert.<\/p>\n

\"De leveringen aan klanten daalden in het jaar 2025 met 5% (10.131 auto\u2019s in plaats van 10.643), grotendeels als gevolg van de aanhoudende krimp van de markt. Dit werd gedeeltelijk gecompenseerd door een toegenomen vraag naar modellen met een hogere marge en een voortdurende verschuiving naar maatwerk, waardoor de omzet met slechts 1% daalde\", aldus Bentley.<\/p>\n

De inkrimping van het personeelsbestand betreft voornamelijk werknemers in de administratie en algemene diensten. Bentley wil dat het grootste deel van de inkrimping komt doordat mensen die met pensioen gaan of vrijwillig vertrekken niet worden vervangen.<\/p>\n

Concurrentievermogen op lange termijn<\/h4>\n

\"We nemen een aantal moeilijke beslissingen om het concurrentievermogen van het bedrijf op lange termijn te waarborgen, waaronder een organisatorische aanpassing die mogelijk gevolgen heeft voor ongeveer 275 functies. Ik wil mijn oprechte waardering uitspreken aan degenen die hierdoor worden getroffen; we zetten ons in om iedereen tijdens deze overgang met zorg, begeleiding en ondersteuning bij te staan,\" verklaarde Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, CEO van Bentley.<\/p>\n

De CEO wijst erop dat de automobielsector onder grote druk staat. \"Dit is een periode waarin we onze kostenstructuur en de effici\u00ebntie daarvan moeten aanpassen. Deze maatregelen, in combinatie met onze investeringen en onze Beyond100+-strategie, zorgen ervoor dat Bentley financieel veerkrachtig en strategisch gefocust blijft en goed gepositioneerd is voor de volgende generatie luxeauto\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bentley maakt deel uit van de Audi-subgroep binnen de Volkswagen Group, die onlangs plannen aankondigde om het aantal werknemers tegen 2030 wereldwijd met 50.000 te verminderen. Het bedrijf heeft meer dan 4.000 mensen in dienst op zijn historische locatie in Crewe, waar het al zijn activiteiten hergroepeert. Audi heeft net een omzetstijging van 10% aangekondigd en zijn CEO heeft een volledig\u00a0elektrische A2-opvolger.<\/a><\/p>\n
