Bentley, het luxe merk van Volkswagen, is van plan 275 banen te schrappen (6% van het personeelsbestand). Het operationele voordeel is gedaald van 373 miljoen euro naar 216 miljoen euro (-42,1%).<\/p>\n

De fabrikant rechtvaardigt zijn beslissing door te verwijzen naar de Amerikaanse importtarieven onder de regering Trump, de dalende verkoop in China en de trage vraag naar elektrische auto's. Het laatste argument is enigszins vreemd, aangezien Bentley nog geen elektrische auto produceert.<\/p>\n

\u201cDe leveringen aan klanten daalden met 5% (10.131 auto's in plaats van 10.643) in het jaar 2025, grotendeels als gevolg van de aanhoudende inkrimping van de markt. Dit werd gedeeltelijk gecompenseerd door een toegenomen vraag naar derivaten met hogere marges en een voortdurende verschuiving naar personalisatie op maat, wat resulteerde in een omzetdaling van slechts 1%,\u201d aldus Bentley.<\/p>\n

De inkrimping van het personeelsbestand betreft voornamelijk werknemers in de administratie en algemene diensten. Bentley wil dat het grootste deel van de inkrimping komt doordat mensen die met pensioen gaan of vrijwillig vertrekken niet worden vervangen.<\/p>\n

Concurrentievermogen op lange termijn<\/h4>\n

\u201cWe nemen een aantal moeilijke beslissingen om het concurrentievermogen van het bedrijf op de lange termijn te waarborgen, waaronder een organisatorische aanpassing die mogelijk gevolgen heeft voor ongeveer 275 functies. Bentley maakt deel uit van de Audi-subgroep binnen de Volkswagen Group, die onlangs plannen aankondigde om het aantal werknemers tegen 2030 wereldwijd met 50.000 te verminderen. Het bedrijf heeft meer dan 4.000 mensen in dienst op zijn historische locatie in Crewe, waar het al zijn activiteiten hergroepeert.
