China onderzoekt de ontwikkeling van zijn waterstofindustrie als onderdeel van zijn decarbonisatiestrategie.<\/p>\n

Er is een richtlijn gepubliceerd door drie belangrijke overheidsinstanties, waaronder het ministerie van Industrie en Informatietechnologie (MIIT), om zowel de industrie te ontwikkelen als de productie van waterstofvoertuigen op te schalen, en om de prijs van waterstof aan de pomp te verlagen tot ongeveer 3 euro per kg.<\/p>\n

In Europa en Noord-Amerika lijkt het erop dat waterstof geen levensvatbaar mainstream alternatief worden<\/a> aan \u201ctraditionele\u201d batterij-elektrische voertuigen, in ofwel personenauto's<\/a> of vrachtwagens.<\/p>\n

De grotere actieradius en het snel tanken lijken niet op te wegen tegen de hoge pompprijzen, een gebrek aan infrastructuur en dure voertuigen, om nog maar te zwijgen van het gebrek aan energie-effici\u00ebntie in het productieproces.<\/p>\n

100.000 voertuigen tegen 2030<\/h4>\n

Hoe dan ook, het lijkt erop dat China wil weten of waterstof<\/a> kan nog steeds een rol spelen in de elektrificatie van het wegvervoer als de prijzen aanzienlijk dalen.<\/p>\n

Het land wil zijn brandstofcelvloot verdubbelen tot 100.000 voertuigen in 2030, vooral gericht op zware voertuigen zoals vrachtwagens en bussen, maar ook personenwagens.<\/p>\n

Om dit te bereiken worden er proefprogramma's gestart om stadsclusters te ontwikkelen voor de volledige toeleveringsketen van waterstof, van productie tot gebruik door de eindgebruiker. Dit lijkt op andere industriesectoren in China, die vaak geconcentreerd zijn in clusters of hubs.<\/p>\n

Waterstofknooppunten, net als andere industri\u00eble sectoren<\/h4>\n

De meeste Chinese elektronicabedrijven zijn bijvoorbeeld gevestigd in Shenzhen, terwijl de auto-industrie vooral is ontwikkeld in Changchun en Chongqing.<\/p>\n

Deze locaties worden gekozen omdat ze dicht bij rivieren of kusten liggen en omdat de integratie van de toeleveringsketen niet alleen de doorlooptijd verkort, maar ook de ontwikkeling van gespecialiseerde arbeidsvaardigheden en infrastructuurexpertise mogelijk maakt.<\/p>\n

De centrale overheid wijst tot 1,6 miljard yuan (\u20ac 200 miljoen) toe aan deze proefstedenclusters om de waterstofindustrie te ontwikkelen.<\/p>\n

De waterstof zal niet alleen worden gebruikt voor voertuigen, maar ook voor de productie van groene ammoniak en methanol, chemische materialen op waterstofbasis en waterstofmetallurgie.<\/p>\n

De waterstofprijzen halveren<\/h4>\n

Maar om waterstof levensvatbaar te maken, moet het ook betaalbaar worden. Daarom wil China de gemiddelde prijs van waterstof voor eindgebruik verlagen tot minder dan 25 yuan (ongeveer 3,15 euro) per kg, of zelfs minder dan 15 yuan (1,9 euro) per kg in regio's met een ideale ligging.<\/p>\n

Dat is ongeveer de helft van de huidige prijs van waterstof in China, die varieert van 35 tot 50 yuan (\u20ac4,5 tot \u20ac6,25) per kg. Ter vergelijking: in Belgi\u00eb kost een kg waterstof aan de pomp ongeveer \u20ac10.<\/p>\n

Deze stap betekent niet dat China denkt dat waterstofvoertuigen een betere oplossing zijn dan BEV's. Met slechts 100.000 voertuigen verwacht tegen 2030, of minder dan 25.000 nieuwe voertuigen per jaar, zal dit neerkomen op minder dan 0,1% van de totale autoverkoop, en dan tellen we de bedrijfsvoertuigen nog niet eens mee.
