Dit blijkt uit recente inspecties van de Economische Inspectie.<\/p>\n<p>De helft van de ge\u00efnspecteerde e-scooters werd online verkocht, de andere helft in fysieke winkels. Slechts drie van de online verkochte scooters voldeden aan de Belgische wetgeving, en twee in fysieke winkels.<\/p>\n<p>Minister van Consumentenbescherming Rob Beenders (Vooruit) heeft bevolen de niet-conforme e-scooters uit de verkoop te halen. \u201cDit gaat niet over details\u201d, zegt Beenders. \u201cDit zijn basisregels die ervoor zorgen dat mensen een product veilig kunnen gebruiken.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Voer de snelheid op<\/h4>\n<p>De vastgestelde problemen zijn uiteenlopend. Belangrijke informatie, zoals gegevens over de fabrikant of importeur, ontbreekt bijvoorbeeld vaak; waarschuwingen en veiligheidsinformatie zijn vaak niet in de juiste taal beschikbaar; de CE-markering.<\/p>\n<p>Dit geeft aan dat een product veilig is volgens de Europese regelgeving, dat er geen instructies zijn of dat de instructies voor veilig gebruik onduidelijk zijn, en dat de verplichte verklaring dat het product voldoet aan de Europese regelgeving vaak ontbreekt of onvolledig is.<\/p>\n<p>Andere problemen: Een e-scooter mag technisch gezien niet harder dan 25 km\/u. Veel modellen die online worden verkocht, kunnen echter eenvoudig worden ingesteld op 30 of 35 km\/u via een app of een instelling.<\/p>\n<p>Veel fabrikanten bieden ook alleen een reflector aan de voor- en achterkant. De Belgische wet vereist echter oranje zijreflectoren (of een reflecterende strip op de banden). Deze ontbrak op de meeste afgekeurde e-scooters.<\/p>\n<p>Een e-scooter moet ook een bel hebben die tot 20 meter hoorbaar is. Veel e-scooters worden verkocht zonder bel of met een elektronische piep die niet aan de norm voldoet.<\/p>\n<h4>Meer inspecties op komst<\/h4>\n<p>\u201cDit is nog maar het begin\u201d, zegt Beens over de handhavingsacties. \u201cWe blijven de situatie opvolgen en waar nodig streng optreden. Binnenkort zal ik samen met mijn collega-ministers Clarinval (Economie) en Crucke (Mobiliteit) ook een actieplan rond e-scooters aankondigen, zodat we het veiligheidsprobleem sneller kunnen aanpakken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>De inspectiedossiers voor winkels worden verder onderzocht en mogelijk volgen er nog aanvullende maatregelen. Daarnaast zal er dit jaar een technische test worden uitgevoerd op de e-scooter. Op basis van die resultaten wordt bepaald welke extra inspecties in de toekomst nodig zijn.<\/p>\n<p>De stap volgt op een sterke stijging van <em>e<\/em>-scooter-gerelateerde ongevallen.
