{"id":183564,"date":"2026-03-30T17:11:37","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T15:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/?p=183564"},"modified":"2026-04-03T08:27:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T06:27:19","slug":"flemish-mobility-minister-pushes-through-with-car-inspection-reforms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2026\/03\/30\/flemish-mobility-minister-pushes-through-with-car-inspection-reforms\/","title":{"rendered":"Vlaamse minister van Mobiliteit zet hervorming autokeuring door"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ondanks kritiek van alle kanten drukt Vlaams minister van Mobiliteit Annick De Ridder (N-VA) haar plannen door om de autokeuring te reorganiseren. De minister wil <a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2026\/02\/25\/flemish-plans-for-revising-car-inspection-meet-criticism\/\">het systeem veranderen en vereenvoudigen<\/a> omdat het in haar ogen \u2018verguld\u2019 is en te veel vraagt van de gewone Vlaamse autobezitter.<\/p>\n<p>De belangrijkste veranderingen zijn de afschaffing van de verplichting om tweedehands auto's te laten keuren en de optie om een keuring te laten uitvoeren door andere professionals dan de huidige keuringscentra.<\/p>\n<h4>1,7 miljoen minder inspecties<\/h4>\n<p>In haar beleidsnota hoopt de minister het aantal autokeuringen tegen 2028 met 1,7 miljoen te verminderen en schat ze het banenverlies bij keuringscentra op ongeveer 500.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens de planning zullen er dit jaar al 121 werknemers verdwijnen, 323 in 2027 en nog eens 54 in 2028. In deze schattingen is de uiteindelijke verschuiving van inspecties van offici\u00eble inspectiecentra naar onafhankelijke autoservicebedrijven (meestal garages) niet meegenomen.<\/p>\n<h4>Zeer betreurenswaardig<\/h4>\n<p>De sectorfederatie voor autokeuring, GOCA, noemt het nieuwe plan ronduit betreurenswaardig. \u201cEr zullen gevolgen zijn voor de verkeersveiligheid, het milieu en de consumentenbescherming\u201d, zegt GOCA-woordvoerder Dirk Snauwaert.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025 controleerden de inspectiecentra 482.000 tweedehands auto's voordat ze werden verkocht. 93.000, of een vijfde, werd de toegang tot de weg geweigerd vanwege gebreken. Waar is de zorg voor de verkeersveiligheid als je deze inspectie afschaft?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>De bezorgde ChristenUnie, ACV Puls, wijst erop dat het opnieuw de gewone burger zal zijn die de rekening voor de veranderingen zal betalen. \u201cPolitici ontlopen hun verantwoordelijkheid. In tijden van grote budgetproblemen betaalt de burger\/consument dubbel: de veiligheid op de weg neemt af, de tweedehands transactie wordt minder beschermd en hij voelt de maatschappelijke en financi\u00eble gevolgen van een dergelijk beleid.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Hard nodig<\/h4>\n<p>De minister is niet onder de indruk. Volgens haar zijn haar veranderingen hard nodig. \u201dWe maken de autokeuring veel consumentvriendelijker voor de Vlaming, zorgen ervoor dat de keuringsfiles verdwijnen en schrappen overbodige regelgeving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNatuurlijk ben ik bezorgd om de werknemers van de inspectiecentra die zullen worden getroffen, maar we hebben te veel inspecties gedaan, meer dan waar Europa om vroeg, en dat is wat ik wilde veranderen. Investeringen in verkeersveiligheid blijven een prioriteit en blijven op hetzelfde niveau als voorheen,\u201d voegde ze eraan toe.<\/p>\n<h4>Onze visie<\/h4>\n<p>De minister heeft absoluut gelijk dat het nu te moeilijk is voor autobezitters om een afspraak te maken voor autokeuring. Er moet iets veranderen en de inspectiecentra hebben dit probleem te lang genegeerd. Het is hun achilleshiel in hun vete met de minister.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Annick De Ridder is een van de leidende figuren in de N-VA, de grootste partij in Vlaanderen. De electorale kern van deze partij is de zogenaamde \u2018hardwerkende Vlaming\u2019, en de partij zal alles doen om aan zijn wensen en grillen te voldoen. Hij\/zij kan zich dus niet al te veel aantrekken van regels en verplichtingen. Vandaar de inspanningen van de minister om de autokeuring te veranderen en te vereenvoudigen.<\/p>\n<p>In haar poging om haar kiezers te plezieren, snijdt de minister echter ernstig in andere parameters, zoals veiligheid en milieuzorg. Uit een recente enqu\u00eate van CarVertical blijkt dat bijna de helft van de tweedehandswagens in Belgi\u00eb uit het buitenland komt.<\/p>\n<p>Meer dan 20% van alle tweedehandsauto's kwam uit Frankrijk, meer dan 10% uit Duitsland, en er kwamen er ook veel uit Nederland, Itali\u00eb en Zweden.<\/p>\n<h4>Fraude met kilometers<\/h4>\n<p>Het probleem is dat in veel gevallen kilometerfraude wordt ontdekt, en erger nog, dat veel auto's al eerder schade hebben gehad. In de meeste gevallen gaat het om kleine schade, maar veel auto's hebben ernstige schade opgelopen en zijn vaak gerepareerd met goedkopere, soms niet-conforme reserveonderdelen.<\/p>\n<p>De merken waar klanten de meeste risico's nemen, zijn logischerwijs de populairste merken, zoals BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz en Peugeot. Als de verplichte technische keuring voor tweedehandswagens wordt afgeschaft, zal dit zeker een bijkomend veiligheidsprobleem cre\u00ebren op de Vlaamse wegen.<\/p>\n<p>Aan de milieukant betekenen minder controles meer en langere fraude met emissies, in een tijd waarin Vlaanderen al een van de mindere leerlingen is in de Europese milieuklas.<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least zijn we er niet van overtuigd dat de nieuwe ministeri\u00eble plannen zo goed zijn voor de overheidsbegroting. Wie uiteindelijk de herstructureringskosten van de plannen zal betalen is op dit moment niet erg duidelijk.
