BYD vecht tegen een neerwaartse trend op zijn thuismarkt. En de beste remedie tegen zo'n dip is een nieuw product. Kom met de Song Ultra EV, een auto die een maatstaf wil zetten voor wat een middelgrote elektrische SUV voor zijn geld kan opleveren. Kopers hebben het opgemerkt.<\/p>\n

De Ultra is de nieuwste toevoeging aan de succesvolle Song-serie van BYD, een compacte SUV die in Europa werd gelanceerd onder de naam Atto 3. Hij is uitgerust met BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo met een elektrische architectuur van 800 V en de tweede generatie Short Blade Battery van het bedrijf.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

De tweede generatie Short Blade Battery van BYD maakt gebruik van LMFP-chemie (lithium-mangaan-ferrofosfaat) en wordt ondersteund door een levenslange celgarantie. De energiedichtheid is 40% gestegen ten opzichte van zijn voorganger, deels dankzij een ruimte-geoptimaliseerde cel-tot-pak structuur. De Song Ultra is het eerste model voor de massamarkt met deze cel.<\/p>\n

Opladen met flits<\/h4>\n

De cijfers die het produceert zijn indrukwekkend: een lading van 10% naar 70% duurt vijf minuten; van 10% naar 97% negen minuten. Zelfs bij min 30 graden Celsius kost het maar drie minuten extra.<\/p>\n

BYD bereikt deze prestaties met zijn gloednieuwe Flash Charging-stations, die pieken van 1.500 kW kunnen bereiken en op weg zijn naar Europa. Hoewel het nog niet bevestigd is, is het niet moeilijk voor te stellen dat de Song Ultra zijn weg vindt naar buitenlandse markten. BYD wordt steeds afhankelijker van export om de boekhouders tevreden te houden.<\/p>\n

In China biedt BYD vier varianten van de Song Ultra aan, vari\u00ebrend van 151.900 tot 179.900 yuan (ruwweg \u20ac19.500 tot \u20ac23.000 tegen de huidige prijzen). De twee versies met een kortere actieradius gebruiken een 326 pk sterke achtermotor met een 68,4 kWh-pakket dat 620 km aflevert op de optimistische CLTC-cyclus.<\/p>\n

Stap over op de lange-afstandsvarianten en een 367 pk sterke motor zorgt samen met een 82,7 kWh accu voor 710 km. Alle varianten halen een topsnelheid van 210 km\/u en de wielbasis van 2.840 mm biedt voldoende beenruimte achterin voor een SUV van dit formaat.<\/p>\n

Schermen en een plat bed<\/h4>\n

Het interieur is gericht op comfort. Een 15,6-inch roterend centraal display domineert het dashboard, ondersteund door een groot instrumentenpaneel en een nog groter head-up display.<\/p>\n

De voorstoelen bieden ventilatie, verwarming en tienpuntsmassage. Wanneer de stemming erom vraagt, kunnen de voor- en achterstoelen worden opgeklapt tot een doorlopend slaapoppervlak van ongeveer 1,8 meter lang. De opbergruimte bedraagt 150 liter voorin en 730 liter achterin, uitbreidbaar tot 1.659 liter met de stoelen neergeklapt.<\/p>\n

Technisch gezien zijn alle uitvoeringen uitgerust met BYD's DiSus-C continu dempingssysteem, dat samenwerkt met een McPherson voorwielophanging en een vijf-link achterwielophanging. Deze laatste is ook de voorkeursoplossing om het rijcomfort te verhogen.<\/p>\n

Kannibalisme?<\/h4>\n

De vraag, die al voor de offici\u00eble lancering was ontstaan, is groot. De voorverkooporders overschreden de 21.500 eenheden in de drie weken na de opening van de reserveringen.<\/p>\n

Nadat de auto in de verkoop ging, veranderde dat momentum in een stormloop. BYD-dealers kregen gemiddeld 15 bestellingen per winkel in de eerste 72 uur alleen al, en het aantal bezoekers steeg met 40 procent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Chinese kopers zijn echter meestal enthousiaste early adopters. De vraag daalt vaak in de periode na de lancering. Als bestseller heeft de Song echter een grote kans om een blijvend succes te worden.<\/p>\n

De vraag is of de actieradius kannibaliseert, omdat het nieuwe model het klantenbestand van de Sealion 06 EV opeet. Het is de onvermijdelijke tol van een assortiment dat zo snel groeit als dat van BYD.
