Wie tegenwoordig rond Zaventem of Brussels Airport rijdt, kan maar beter uitkijken, want vanaf nu zie je misschien wel de beruchte Tesla politiewagen van de lokale politiezone in je achteruitkijkspiegel verschijnen.<\/p>\n

Of hoe de auto na meer dan zes jaar inactiviteit eindelijk in gebruik kan worden genomen - een schoolvoorbeeld van hoe een relatief eenvoudige aankoop kan uitmonden in jarenlange administratieve en juridische rompslomp.<\/p>\n

Papierwerk niet in orde<\/h4>\n

Eind augustus 2018 kondigde de politie van Zaventem triomfantelijk aan dat, in lijn met het engagement van de gemeente voor een milieuvriendelijk beleid, de politiezone had gekozen voor 100% EV's - meer bepaald twee Tesla Model S wagens, een primeur voor de Belgische politie. Maar het verhaal nam een andere wending...<\/p>\n

De politie had deze twee Tesla's via een Europese aanbesteding gekocht van een Nederlandse dealer. Het was de laagste bieder, maar leverde de auto's pas veel later, nadat advocaten zich ermee gingen bemoeien.<\/p>\n

Toen de auto's eindelijk werden geleverd, ontbraken cruciale documenten die nodig waren voor de registratie in Belgi\u00eb. In juni 2022 was het papierwerk voor \u00e9\u00e9n Tesla in orde - maar niet voor de tweede.<\/p>\n

Een hele saga<\/h4>\n

Het bleek dat het ontbrekende registratiedocument in het bezit was van een Nederlandse leasemaatschappij: de verkoper had diezelfde Tesla ook aan dat bedrijf verkocht. En de Nederlandse garage ging vervolgens failliet, wat de zaak nog ingewikkelder maakte.<\/p>\n

Toen het papierwerk voor die auto na veel administratieve rompslomp eindelijk in orde was, had de auto ook om naar de garage te gaan<\/a> voor reparaties. De Tesla had een tweede circuit nodig voor de sirene en moest worden voorzien van extra kofferruimte.<\/p>\n

Twee keer de oorspronkelijke prijs<\/h4>\n

De Tesla in kwestie kostte 82.000 euro, maar de totale kosten waren inmiddels opgelopen tot ongeveer 160.000 euro - naast de aankoopprijs kwam er nog eens 40.000 euro aan juridische kosten, een schikkingsovereenkomst en nog eens 18.000 euro aan btw omdat de auto nog steeds in Nederland geregistreerd stond.<\/p>\n

Maar nu is het eindelijk klaar voor gebruik. Volgens VRT Nieuws kan het voertuig, als de eindinspectie succesvol verloopt, al aan het einde van de week in gebruik worden genomen.<\/p>\n
