Volkswagen heeft de ID.3 Neo officieel onthuld tijdens een wereldpremi\u00e8re in Hamburg en de voorverkoop is al begonnen op de meeste Europese markten.<\/p>\n

Het model - dat waarover we in maart berichtten<\/a> toen de naam voor het eerst opdook - blijkt aanzienlijk meer te zijn dan een mid-cycle refresh. Het is een fundamenteel vernieuwde auto en de specificaties bevestigen de beweringen van Volkswagen.<\/p>\n

Terug naar knoppen<\/b><\/h4>\n

Het grootste nieuws zit binnenin. De ID.3 Neo krijgt een volledig opnieuw ontworpen cockpit met een horizontale lay-out, een nieuwe middenconsole en - het belangrijkste - een speciaal klimaatbedieningspaneel met fysieke haptische schakelaars.<\/p>\n

Dat laatste is geen kleinigheid: de afwezigheid van aanraakbare bedieningselementen was een van de meest fervente klachten over de Tesla-imiterende benadering die Volkswagen op de originele ID.3 introduceerde.<\/p>\n

Het naar de bestuurder gerichte display groeit naar 10,25 inch, terwijl het centrale touchscreen 12,9 inch meet en draait op een nieuw op Android gebaseerd Innovision infotainmentsysteem, dat de oudere Discover setup vervangt.<\/p>\n

Een nieuw multifunctioneel stuurwiel, ook met haptische bediening, maakt het plaatje compleet, naast meer hoogwaardige materialen in het interieur: soft-touch oppervlakken op de middenarmsteun en deurpanelen geven het interieur een merkbaar chiquere uitstraling. Voor wie van nostalgie houdt, is er een optionele retro-uitlezing van de instrumenten verkrijgbaar, met een knipoog naar het Golf-design van eind jaren 1980.<\/p>\n

Fris gezicht<\/b><\/h4>\n

Connectiviteit krijgt ook een aanzienlijke boost: het VW Connect-pakket is nu tien jaar lang gratis inbegrepen en biedt de stemassistent IDA met ChatGPT-integratie, navigatie, een digitale autosleutel en oplaadfuncties op afstand. Voorheen waren dit betaalde extra's.<\/p>\n

Aan de buitenkant is de voorkant nieuw met een zachtere look en een doorlopende LED-lichtstrip die langs de onderrand loopt. De koplampen zijn slanker en het dak, de spoiler, de voorruitomlijsting en de achterklep zijn nu in carrosseriekleur.<\/p>\n

Dat laatste was op het uitgaande model altijd in het zwart uitgevoerd. Afhankelijk van het uitrustingsniveau is het VW-logo verlicht. De buitenafmetingen zijn identiek aan die van de huidige auto: 4,2 meter lang, 1,8 meter breed, een wielbasis van 2,7 meter en een bagageruimte van 385 liter.<\/p>\n

Bereik springt over de hele linie<\/b><\/h4>\n

Volkswagen bevestigt nu officieel wat al werd aangegeven door de updates van de Cupra Born en de Ford Explorer: de twee kleinere batterijvarianten (50 kWh en 58 kWh netto) stappen over van NMC (nikkel-mangaan-cadmium) naar LFP (lithium-ijzerfosfaat) chemie. Alleen de accu van de topversie (79 kWh netto) houdt vast aan NMC.<\/p>\n

Vergeleken met de cijfers van respectievelijk 383, 429 en 564 km van het vorige model zijn de verbeteringen aanzienlijk, met name voor de middenvariant, die 65 km WLTP-bereik wint ondanks een iets kleinere accu. Maar ook de topversie levert nu comfortabel 630 kilometer, een sprong van 66 kilometer.<\/p>\n

De varianten met een hoger vermogen maken gebruik van de nieuwe APP350 motor, die de APP310 vervangt en voor meer koppel en een betere effici\u00ebntie zorgt. Opmerkelijk: de 140 kW-versie is 10 kW lager gewaardeerd dan de 150 kW van zijn voorganger, wat dezelfde aanpassing is als bij de Cupra Born.<\/p>\n

De ID.3 Neo rijdt op het MEB+ platform en behoudt achterwielaandrijving. Dat is een punt waarop hij zich onderscheidt van de ID. Polo en ID. Cross, die een voorwielaangedreven versie van MEB+ zullen gebruiken. En voor het geval je het je afvroeg: Volkswagen werkt ook aan een ID.3 GTI, die gebruik zal maken van de krachtigere APP550 motor.<\/p>\n

Drie uitrustingsniveaus, een duidelijk instappunt<\/b><\/b><\/h4>\n

Ook de hernoemde modellenreeks is een blik in de achteruitkijkspiegel. De vroegere Pure\/Pro\/Pro S-structuren zijn vervangen door Volkswagen's bekende Trend, Life en Style badges, die de serie met verbrandingsmotor populair hebben gemaakt.<\/p>\n

De productie wordt voortgezet in de Volkswagen-fabriek in Zwickau en de marktintroductie staat gepland voor juli. De prijs is nog niet bekendgemaakt.
