BMW Group heeft in het eerste kwartaal van 2026 wereldwijd 87.458 BEV's afgeleverd. Dit is een daling van 20,1% ten opzichte van dezelfde periode vorig jaar. De belangrijkste reden is de dalende verkoop in China en de VS. De orderintake voor elektrische voertuigen in Europa ziet er aanzienlijk beter uit, dankzij de nieuwe iX3.<\/p>\n

BMW's leveringen van batterij-elektrische auto's verloren momentum aan het begin van 2026. In het eerste kwartaal leverde de fabrikant uit M\u00fcnchen 87.458 volledig elektrische auto's aan klanten, een aanzienlijke daling ten opzichte van de 109.516 in het eerste kwartaal. Q1 2025.<\/a><\/p>\n

Hoewel BMW er nog steeds in slaagde om het volledige jaar 2025 af te sluiten met meer dan 442.000 leveringen van BEV, wat een lichte jaar-op-jaar stijging betekent, vertoonde de kwartaaltrend al tekenen van verzwakking.<\/p>\n

Ook in het laatste kwartaal van 2025 slaagde de autofabrikant er niet in om zijn BEV-verkopen van dezelfde periode een jaar eerder te overtreffen. De daling in het eerste kwartaal van 2026 markeert dus de tweede opeenvolgende daling in BEV kwartaalleveringen, wat wijst op een afkoelingstraject na een periode van groei.<\/p>\n

Vertrouwde tegenwind: China en de VS<\/h4>\n

BMW schrijft de daling in leveringen van batterij-elektrische auto's toe aan bekende tegenwind, zoals gesignaleerd door Volkswagen Group, die onlangs zijn cijfers over het eerste kwartaal bekendmaakte.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

In de Verenigde Staten schrapte de geleidelijke afschaffing van het belastingkrediet voor EV's een belangrijke aankoopstimulans, wat de vraag op de hele BEV-markt drukte. Tegelijkertijd bleek de situatie in China een vergelijkbare uitdaging: aflopende subsidieprogramma's rond de jaarwisseling zorgden voor extra druk op de verkoop.<\/p>\n

Desondanks onderstreept BMW dat de algehele prestaties in China, voor alle aandrijvingstypen, relatief goed standhielden en beter presteerden dan een markt die recentelijk een scherpe daling liet zien.<\/p>\n

Overgangsfase<\/h4>\n

Voor de Duitse autofabrikant uit M\u00fcnchen speelt er nog een extra factor mee: BMW is momenteel bezig met de overgang tussen twee grote golven in zijn batterij-elektrische autoassortiment.<\/p>\n

Maandenlang had het bedrijf geen volumineuze middenklasse SUV op de markt, omdat de productie van de oude iX3 was be\u00ebindigd en de langverwachte opvolger, gebaseerd op het \u2018Neue Klasse\u2019-platform, nog moest worden geleverd.<\/p>\n

De nieuwe iX3<\/a> is pas sinds maart officieel verkrijgbaar. Voor de batterij-elektrische middenklasse sedans blijft de welbekende i4 in productie, maar deze is naar moderne batterij-elektrische maatstaven wel wat verouderd.<\/p>\n

BMW heeft al de nieuwe i3<\/a>, met Neue Klasse-technologie, net als de iX3, maar het volumemodel is nog niet leverbaar. De serieproductie begint in augustus.<\/p>\n

Hoge rente<\/h4>\n

De belangstelling van klanten voor de iX3 is uitzonderlijk groot. In Europa heeft BMW onder impuls van de nieuwe iX3 het aantal orders voor batterij-elektrische auto's aanzienlijk verhoogd: van januari tot maart stegen de orders met ongeveer 40% ten opzichte van dezelfde periode vorig jaar. Als gevolg daarvan omschreef het bedrijf uit M\u00fcnchen het kwartaal in zijn verkooppersbericht als een \u201csuccesvolle marktintroductie voor Neue Klasse\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe zien een uitzonderlijk sterke vraag naar de nieuwe BMW iX3. Met meer dan 50.000 nieuwe bestellingen sinds het begin van de bestelprocedure in Europa overtreft de belangstelling van klanten voor de BMW iX3 onze hoge verwachtingen.<\/div>\n

Optimisme blijft<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Over alle aandrijvingstypes heen leverde BMW Group in het eerste kwartaal van 2026 565.748 voertuigen af van zijn merken BMW, MINI en Rolls-Royce - een daling van 3,5% op jaarbasis.<\/div>\n

Accu-elektrische voertuigen waren goed voor 87.458 eenheden, wat overeenkomt met een aandeel van 15,5% in het totale aantal leveringen. Inclusief plug-in hybrides rapporteert BMW Group 132.518 \u2018ge\u00eblektrificeerde\u2019 voertuigen voor de periode, omdat het beide aandrijvingstypes groepeert onder deze categorie.<\/p>\n

Na aftrek blijven er 45.060 plug-in hybride voertuigen (PHEV's) over, iets minder dan de 47.979 eenheden in hetzelfde kwartaal vorig jaar. BMW publiceert geen meer gedetailleerde uitsplitsing van leveringen van BEV's per merk.<\/p>\n
