Het Franse parlement heeft immers besloten om de milieusticker en de lage-emissiezones af te schaffen - maatregelen bedoeld om de vervuiling in steden terug te dringen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De \u2018zones \u00e0 faibles \u00e9missions\u2019 (ZFE), zoals ze in Frankrijk worden genoemd, werden in 2021 ingevoerd met als doel om tegen 2025 het meest vervuilende verkeer uit 42 Franse stedelijke gebieden te weren. <\/span>Frankrijk gebruikte het stickersysteem Crit'Air om auto's te classificeren van schoon (elektrisch) tot zeer vervuilend (diesel en oudere benzine).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De maatregel is de afgelopen jaren echter op steeds meer weerstand gestuit.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Tegenstanders vonden het discriminerend omdat mensen met lagere inkomens zich vaak geen nieuwe, minder vervuilende auto kunnen veroorloven. Mensen die pendelen vanuit buitenwijken\/plattelandsgebieden zijn ook afhankelijk van hun auto.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Kristalhelder<\/h4>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De milieusticker kwam ook onder vuur te liggen omdat veel Fransen het systeem onpraktisch en verwarrend vonden. <\/span>Verschillende steden hadden verschillende tijdlijnen en beperkingen.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De stemming in het Franse parlement was glashelder: zowel rechts als links stemde voor afschaffing (224 voor en 100 <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">tegen)<\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">. <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De uitslag van de stemming kan als een verrassing komen in een land waar 40.000 mensen sterven \/radio. <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De beslissing kan Frankrijk ook duur komen te staan. De Europese Unie heeft het land in 2022 al veroordeeld voor het overschrijden van de vervuilingsnormen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De afschaffing is echter nog niet zeker; de Raad van State kan nog bezwaar aantekenen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Hoe zit het met andere Europese landen?<\/h4>\n<p>Vandaag de dag heeft geen enkel groot land ze volledig afgeschaft, zoals Frankrijk probeert, maar er is wel sprake van terughoudendheid en verzachting. In Duitsland hebben veel steden lage-emissiezones, maar sommige beperkingen zijn versoepeld of opgeheven naarmate de luchtkwaliteit verbeterde.<\/p>\n<p>Londen, aan de andere kant, heeft zelfs zijn ultra-lage-emissiezone uitgebreid, hoewel er veel verzet is. Amsterdam en Rotterdam, in Nederland, scherpen geleidelijk hun nul-emissiezones aan, zoals de Nederlanders ze noemen, terwijl in Belgi\u00eb nog steeds lage-emissiezones actief zijn in Brussel, Antwerpen en Gent.<\/p>\n<h4>Belgi\u00eb<\/h4>\n<p>Belgi\u00eb heeft eigenlijk een van de meer gevestigde LEZ-systemen in Europa, die meerdere steden. In Antwerpen werd de lage-emissiezone in 2017 ingevoerd en de stad heeft een sterk camerahandhavingssysteem.<\/p>\n<p>Gent introduceerde zijn LEZ in 2020; het wordt gecombineerd met een bredere autoluwe stad strategie. De Brusselse LEZ is in 2018 van start gegaan.
