Is dit het begin van het tijdperk van de luchttaxi? In Dubai is de eerste internationale luchthaven voor eVTOL-vliegtuigen klaar. Maar wie staat te popelen om zijn eerste dronevlucht te maken, moet nog even geduld hebben tot het einde van het jaar.<\/p>\n
In Dubai is de bouw van 's werelds eerste commerci\u00eble vertiport (verticale luchthaven) klaar: een faciliteit van vier verdiepingen en 3.100 m\u00b2 die vanaf de grond is ontworpen om elektrische verticaal opstijgende en landende vliegtuigen te verwerken.<\/p>\n
Het moment werd gemarkeerd door een bezoek van Sjeik Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, kroonprins van Dubai, die het \u201ceen belangrijke mijlpaal in de stedelijke mobiliteitsreis van Dubai\u201d noemde.<\/p>\n
De vertiport heeft twee speciale start- en landingsplatforms en integreert de passagiersterminal met de vliegoperaties onder \u00e9\u00e9n dak. Een van de belangrijkste hardware is het Global Electric Aviation Charging System (GEACS). Het is ontwikkeld door de Amerikaanse eVTOL-ontwikkelaar Joby Aviation, die de exclusieve rechten heeft om zes jaar lang luchttaxidiensten te exploiteren in Dubai.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n GEACS is het eerste snellaadsysteem in zijn soort dat wordt ge\u00efnstalleerd in een commerci\u00eble vertipoort waar ook ter wereld. Het is een detail dat er toe doet, want zonder ultrasnel opladen werken luchttaxi's tegen toegankelijke prijzen gewoon niet.<\/p>\n De faciliteit is ontworpen voor serieuze volumes: 170.000 passagiers en tot 42.000 vliegtuigbewegingen per jaar. Directe toegang tot het plaatselijke metrostation en een ge\u00efntegreerde parkeergarage met meerdere verdiepingen geven aan dat de projectmanagers hebben nagedacht over modale integratie: passagiers van en naar de vertiport brengen is net zo belangrijk als de vlucht zelf.<\/p>\n De faciliteit in Dubai is het eerste knooppunt in een netwerk met vier punten. De bouw van de tweede vertiport in Dubai Marina is al aan de gang. Er zijn ook locaties gepland in Dubai Mall en Palm Jumeirah, waarvan de bouw in de komende maanden moet beginnen. Die lappendeken is logisch: het verbindt een internationale toegangspoort met vrijetijds- en zakencentra in de hele stad.<\/p>\n Hoe werkt het? Het boekings- en check-in proces zal volledig digitaal verlopen, via een speciale app, met geautomatiseerde check-in en boarding flows die ontworpen zijn om de wachttijden tussen aankomst in de vertiport en het opstijgen tot een minimum te beperken.<\/p>\n Joby test zijn vliegtuig sinds de zomer van vorig jaar in het Midden-Oosten en heeft een reeks vluchten uitgevoerd, waaronder de eerste vlucht tussen Margham en Al Maktoum International Airport.<\/p>\n Er is echter \u00e9\u00e9n voorbehoud. Het vliegtuig moet nog volledig gecertificeerd worden om betalende passagiers te vervoeren en dat proces is nog gaande.
