Voor fleetorders tot 100 trucks gaat het bedrijf nog een stapje verder en biedt het \u20ac195.000 per voertuig.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Ongewenste combinatie<\/h4>\n<p>Han formuleerde de stap in bewoordingen die weinig twijfel lieten bestaan over het beoogde publiek. \u201cOns doel is niet om meer geld te verdienen terwijl de ruwe olie historisch hoog staat,\u201d schreef hij. \u201cOns doel is eerder om de invoering van elektrische trucks te versnellen en sneller op diesel te komen.\u201d Hij nodigde elke andere vrachtwagenfabrikant ter wereld uit om hetzelfde te doen.<\/p>\n<p>De achtergrond is belangrijk. De dieselprijzen hebben de Europese en Noord-Amerikaanse wagenparken sinds begin 2026 zwaar getroffen, door een onwelkome combinatie van een oorlog in het Midden-Oosten en onderbrekingen in de levering. De structurele argumenten voor elektrificatie hebben er op papier zelden beter uitgezien. Hoewel de overstap naar elektrisch de realiteit van depotinfrastructuur, chauffeurstraining en toegang tot oplaadpunten met zich meebrengt, wedt Windrose dat de kapitaalkosten vooraf de hoogste muur vormen. Maar het heeft die muur omvergeworpen.<\/p>\n<h4>1000 km bereiken<\/h4>\n<p>De truck waarop deze claim is gebaseerd is de R700 Generation 2. Deze is gebouwd rond een 705 kWh lithium-ijzerfosfaatbatterij op een 800 volt-architectuur, met een pieklaadvermogen van 870 kW via de Megawatt Charging System-standaard. Genoeg, zegt Windrose, om van 20% naar 80% te laden in 38 minuten bij 818 kW.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Het bedrijf claimt een actieradius van 700 km bij een volle lading van 68 ton op een enkele oplegger, met een trekker die 11,9 ton weegt. Alle vier belangrijke laadstandaarden, MCS, CCS2, CCS1 en GB\/T, worden ondersteund, wat belangrijk is voor een truck die het bedrijf wil inzetten op routes van Antwerpen naar Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>Windrose kondigde de prijsverlaging aan samen met een technologisch stappenplan dat, hoe dan ook, agressief is. Generatie 3, gepland voor 2028, zal naar verwachting een batterij met een vermogen van 811 kWh en een actieradius van meer dan 815 km hebben, een verbetering van 22%. Generatie 4, gepland voor 2030, zal dan de 960 kWh grens passeren en de 1000 km grens doorbreken. Dat zou in feite het argument van de afstandsangst voor vrachtvervoer over lange afstanden doen verdwijnen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Concurrerend gebied<\/h4>\n<p>Het is een logische opmerking om de stap van Windrose te zien als een noodlijdende verkoop. Het bedrijf kan echter al rekenen op een klantenbestand dat verder reikt dan zijn start-up achtergrond, vari\u00ebrend van namen als Kuehne+Nagel tot Decathlon en R\u00e9my Cointreau. De grote vraag is of dit ook een poging is om een structureel prijspunt vast te stellen waardoor de R700 de standaard economische keuze wordt voor langeafstandsreizigers.<\/p>\n<p>In het bijzonder de \u201cdieselpariteit\u201d claim verdient nader onderzoek. Een nieuwe langeafstandstrekker met dieselmotor van Volvo of Daimler kost doorgaans tussen \u20ac 140.000 en \u20ac 210.000, afhankelijk van de specificaties, hoewel de gemiddelde aanschafkosten aanzienlijk hoger liggen als ook rekening wordt gehouden met aanhangwagencombinaties. De catalogusprijs van \u20ac198.000 is perfect verdedigbaar als concurrerend terrein. Een elektrische Volvo FH voor lange afstanden wordt verkocht voor 250.000-400.000 euro.<\/p>\n<p>Voeg daarbij het verschil in brandstofkosten bij de huidige dieselprijzen, het lagere onderhoud aan de elektrische aandrijflijn en het toenemende gewicht van de kosten voor het naleven van de CO2-normen in het kader van de Europese CO2-regelgeving, en de totale eigendomskosten (TCO) worden echt overtuigend.
