Tesla heeft zijn eerste Semi-truck gebouwd aan de hoofdproductielijn in Nevada, waarmee hopelijk het startschot wordt gegeven voor de serieproductie van de langverwachte zware elektrische truck. De Gigafactory heeft een jaarlijkse productiecapaciteit van 50.000 Semi trucks, maar het valt nog te bezien of Tesla eindelijk klaar is om zijn grootste voertuig tot nu toe op grote schaal te produceren.<\/p>\n

In februari, Tesla heeft stilletjes de website van de Semi bijgewerkt met de definitieve specificaties van de klasse 8 elektrische truck<\/a>, hintend op een mogelijke lancering in serieproductie. Nu is het nieuws officieel: Tesla's X (Twitter) account een foto geplaatst<\/a> van de eerste Semi die van de volumeproductielijn rolt in Gigafactory Nevada.<\/p>\n

De eerste van velen, of slechts de eerste?<\/h4>\n

Zonder verder commentaar is het moeilijk te zeggen of hiermee de serieproductie definitief van start is gegaan of dat het slechts een test was. De Tesla Semi werd in 2017 gepresenteerd en de eerste lancering staat gepland voor 2019.<\/p>\n

Zoals duidelijk is, heeft Tesla zijn zelf opgelegde deadlines meerdere keren gemist. Eind 2022 leverde de fabrikant van elektrische voertuigen\u00a0een proefrit van Semi trucks naar PepsiCo<\/a>, maar die werden met de hand gebouwd op een aparte lijn. Sindsdien is er radiostilte geweest, afgezien van de onthulling van een bijgewerkt model in 2025 met een ontwerp dat meer lijkt op dat van de Model 3 en Model Y passagiersvoertuigen.<\/p>\n

Vanaf $260.000 en tot 800 km bereik<\/h4>\n

Maar nu de productie op gang is gekomen, kunnen klanten eindelijk hun bestellingen verwachten<\/a> - en de bijbehorende subsidies. De Tesla Semi is de goedkoopste batterij-elektrische vrachtwagen van Klasse 8 die in de VS te koop is, met een prijskaartje van $260.000 (\u20ac222.600) voor het Standard Range-model (een actieradius van 325 mijl\/523 km), of ongeveer $290.000 (\u20ac248.300) voor de Long Range-versie (een actieradius van 500 mijl\/805 km). Dat is bijna het dubbele van de prijs die aanvankelijk werd aangekondigd bij de onthulling van de Semi, maar dat was ook bijna 10 jaar geleden.<\/p>\n

Amerikaanse klanten zullen waarschijnlijk als eerste hun Semi-voertuigen ontvangen voordat de truck de internationale markten bereikt.
