Samen vormen ze het grootste fietskoeriersbedrijf van Belgi\u00eb, met ongeveer 50 koeriers en een verwachte omzet van meer dan een miljoen euro.<\/p>\n<p>Oud-politicus Willem-Frederik Schiltz, die ooit de partij Open Vld in Antwerpen leidde, is sinds 2025 de CEO van Cargo Velo; het bedrijf kondigde onlangs een kapitaalverhoging van 1 miljoen euro aan. Het merk De Fietskoerier wordt op termijn uitgefaseerd. Cargo Velo zal alle koeriers van het bedrijf overnemen.<\/p>\n<h4>30% sneller dan een bestelwagen<\/h4>\n<p>Volgens Schiltz en Sim Codd\u00e9, de manager van De Fietskoerier, is de fiets veruit het meest effici\u00ebnte vervoermiddel in stedelijke omgevingen. Ze halen een studie aan van de Belgische federatie voor fietslogistiek waaruit blijkt dat een fietskoerier in de stad gemiddeld 30% sneller op zijn bestemming aankomt dan een bestelwagen.<\/p>\n<p>De Fietskoerier werd 27 jaar geleden opgericht en is onder meer gespecialiseerd in dringende leveringen en medisch transport in en rond Antwerpen. Cargo Velo werd 14 jaar geleden opgericht in Gent en is nu ook actief in Brussel en Antwerpen. Stijn blijft aan de slag als koerier in Antwerpen, Sim zal de komende maanden de integratie achter de schermen begeleiden.<\/p>\n<h4>Nog ruimte voor groei<\/h4>\n<p>Volgens de Belgische Federatie voor Fietslogistiek werden in 2024 meer dan 5 miljoen pakjes geleverd door fietskoeriers in Belgi\u00eb, 70% meer dan het jaar voordien.
