Voor de robotaxi-economie is zijn recordverbruik echt belangrijk. Voor al het andere is de context belangrijker.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>De Cybercab van Tesla is door de Amerikaanse EPA officieel gecertificeerd op 165 Wh per mijl. Omgerekend naar de Europese WLTP-norm komt dit overeen met een verbruik van ongeveer 9,0 kWh\/100 km.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dit cijfer werd publiekelijk bevestigd door Lars Moravy, VP Vehicle Engineering bij Tesla, en maakt de Cybercab met grote voorsprong tot de meest energiezuinige elektrische productieauto die ooit is gebouwd.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>De heldere lucht verslaan<\/h4>\n<p>De vorige benchmark werd gehouden door de Lucid Air Pure met 230 Wh\/mi - op zich al een opmerkelijke prestatie gezien de grootte van de auto, en een die de Cybercab verslaat met 28%. Tesla's eigen Model 3 RWD, lang beschouwd als een referentiepunt voor EV-effici\u00ebntie, verbruikt een kleine 40% meer dan de Cybercab. Hebben robotaxi's een trucje achter de hand dat gewone auto's niet hebben?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>De Cybercab, die vorige maand in Giga Texas in serieproductie is gegaan, is geen personenauto waarvan het stuur is verwijderd. Het is een speciaal gebouwde autonome pod met twee zitplaatsen, ontworpen rond \u00e9\u00e9n enkel doel: twee mensen vervoeren tegen de laagst mogelijke energiekosten per kilometer.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>480 km bereik<\/h4>\n<p>Daarom ontbreken hier veel onmisbare onderdelen van gewone auto's om gewicht te besparen: een stuurkolom, pedalen, een crashstructuur voor de bestuurderspositie en een achterbank. Voor dat doel is het accupakket bescheiden, minder dan 50 kWh. Toch levert het een gecertificeerde actieradius tot 480 km.<\/p>\n<p>Maar het grootste deel van de prestatie is te danken aan het aerodynamische ontwerp. Tesla vormde de carrosserie als een teardrop: minimaal frontaal oppervlak en een sterk taps toelopende achterkant die onmogelijk te verpakken zou zijn in een conventionele auto met achterpassagiers en een bruikbare bagageruimte.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Het resultaat is een voertuig dat simpelweg niet te vergelijken is met iets dat een wagenparkbeheerder momenteel op zijn autolijst kan zetten. Het is geen auto. Het is een rollend bewijs van concept voor hoe effici\u00ebntie eruitziet wanneer menselijke behoeften volledig worden weggelaten.<\/p>\n<h4>Structureel voordeel<\/h4>\n<p>Voor exploitanten die een autonoom rijdend wagenpark plannen, is dat recordlage verbruik van groot belang. De cijfers zijn eenvoudig. Als de Cybercab 30% zuiniger rijdt dan een Model 3, betekent dat ook dat het 30% goedkoper is om te rijden. En om ritbezorging winstgevend te maken, zijn de laagst mogelijke tarieven cruciaal. Toen de Kroatische operator Verne vorige maand zijn robotaxivloot lanceerde in Zagreb, werd een vast tarief van minder dan 2 euro gelanceerd, ongeacht de afgelegde afstand binnen het geografisch afgebakende stadsgebied. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Robotaxi's worden intensief gebruikt en kunnen tot 200.000 km per jaar afleggen, dus een derde vertegenwoordigt een enorme besparing in energie alleen al per voertuig. Vergroot dat over een vloot van 500 eenheden en het aantal wordt structureel significant.<\/p>\n<p>De kleinere batterij betekent ook kortere laadcycli en lagere aanschafkosten per eenheid. Tesla heeft een beoogde verkoopprijs van minder dan $30.000 (ongeveer \u20ac 27.000) aangegeven, waarmee het de goedkoopste nieuwe Tesla in de reeks is.
