Renault Groep kondigt de vernieuwing van haar wetenschappelijke doelstellingen aan, met een nieuwe goedkeuring van haar doelstellingen op korte en lange termijn door het Science Based Targets initiatief. Deze doelstellingen worden ondersteund door het productmomentum van de \u2018strategisch plan voor de toekomst<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0In 2019 was Renault Groep de eerste autofabrikant die zich baseerde op wetenschappelijk onderbouwde klimaatdoelstellingen. Renault kondigt de vernieuwing van zijn wetenschappelijk onderbouwde doelstellingen aan, met een nieuwe goedkeuring van zijn doelstellingen op korte en lange termijn door het Science Based Targets-initiatief (SBTi<\/a>).<\/p>\n

De huidige automarkt, energietrend en het overheidsbeleid tonen een pad. Samen met zijn fabrieken, producten en leveranciers wil de Renault Groep met zijn transitieplan de uitstoot van broeikasgassen sneller terugdringen. Met de bijdragen van materiaalfabrikanten, producenten van hernieuwbare energie en een gestimuleerd koolstofarm beleid, ziet de Groep een weg om \u201cbij te dragen aan een beperking van de opwarming van de aarde tot ruim onder de 2\u00b0C en door te gaan met de inspanningen voor een traject van 1,5\u00b0C\u201d, zoals vermeld in het Akkoord van Parijs.<\/p>\n

\u2018futuREady\u2019 bevestigt de volgende stappen: 16 nieuw te lanceren elektrische modellen, 25% extra minder energie per geproduceerd voertuig tegen 2030, 30% materialen afkomstig uit de circulaire economie, waaronder staal, aluminium, polymeren, versnelde vooruitgang op het gebied van batterijen met een hogere energiedichtheid (10% tot 40% verbetering tegen 2030), en recyclingoplossingen.<\/p>\n

Referentiedoelen voor 2035<\/h4>\n

Renault Groep heeft referentiedoelstellingen om de uitstoot van broeikasgassen te verminderen tegen 2035, als onderdeel van een geleidelijk overgangstraject dat consistent is met de huidige omstandigheden op de wereldwijde automarkt en het overheidsbeleid.<\/p>\n

Deze ambities zijn gebaseerd op de voortdurende inzet van de hefbomen die de Groep gebruikt: verbetering van de energie-effici\u00ebntie van zijn activiteiten, geleidelijke evolutie van de elektrische verkoopmix van de Groep en geleidelijke mobilisatie van de waardeketen, terwijl voorzichtige veronderstellingen over het tempo van de veranderingen in het overheidsbeleid, de energie-infrastructuur en de markttransformatie worden ge\u00efntegreerd.<\/p>\n

In deze context heeft Renault Groep minimumdoelen vastgesteld voor de vermindering van broeikasgassen in 2035 ten opzichte van 2019: 72% van de emissies van zijn activiteiten (scope 1 en 2, goedgekeurd door het SBTi als onderdeel van de ambitieniveaus van de Groep, zie hieronder), en 40% van de emissies in verband met de productie en het gebruik van zijn producten (scope 3, niet goedgekeurd door het SBTi).<\/p>\n

Het initiatief voor wetenschappelijk onderbouwde doelen<\/h4>\n

Naast deze referentiedoelstellingen heeft Renault Groep ambitieniveaus vastgesteld voor emissiereductie op korte en lange termijn die zijn goedgekeurd door de SBTi.<\/p>\n

Deze ambitieniveaus kunnen worden bereikt via het transitieplan van de Groep en een sterkere decarbonisatie van energie in de hele waardeketen van de upstream en downstream auto-industrie, aangezien de klimaattransitie alleen collectief kan slagen.<\/p>\n

In dit kader streeft de Groep naar een broeikasgasreductie van 72% van haar activiteiten (scopes 1 en 2) in 2035 ten opzichte van 2019, 57% van emissies gerelateerd aan de productie en het gebruik van haar producten (scope 3) in 2035 ten opzichte van 2019, en streeft ze naar netto nul koolstofemissies in de hele waardeketen in 2050.<\/p>\n
