Jarenlang werden parkeerboetes voor voertuigen met buitenlandse nummerplaten niet altijd ge\u00efnd in Brussel. Daar komt nu een einde aan dankzij de invoering van een nieuw internationaal inningssysteem.<\/p>\n

Parking.brussels schakelt een gespecialiseerd incassobureau in om deze overtredingen aan te pakken. Van het totale aantal parkeerbonnen dat in Brussel wordt uitgeschreven, zijn er 15% voor buitenlandse nummerplaten. Tot nu toe zijn daarvan slechts 10% betaald in de afgelopen jaren.<\/p>\n

Gebrek aan bilaterale overeenkomsten<\/h4>\n

Door het gebrek aan bilaterale overeenkomsten met verschillende landen zijn de procedures voor het innen van parkeerboetes van voertuigen met buitenlandse nummerplaten in Brussel lange tijd duur, duur en vaak ineffici\u00ebnt geweest, waardoor het erg moeilijk is om overtreders te vervolgen en de verschuldigde bedragen in te vorderen.<\/p>\n

Uit door BRUZZ gepubliceerde cijfers van het bureau van Brussels minister van Mobiliteit Elke Van den Brandt (Groen) bleek dat het inningspercentage in 2023 slechts 9.74% bedroeg en in 2024 was gedaald tot slechts 9.07%. In 2023 werden 301.289 boetes uitgeschreven, oplopend tot 431.573 in 2024. Toch werden respectievelijk slechts 29.346 en 39.144 van deze boetes ge\u00efnd. In 2023 werd 9,3 miljoen euro niet ge\u00efnd, in 2024 was dat 15,8 miljoen euro.<\/p>\n

Sinds juni 2024 worden buitenlandse auto's alleen nog gecontroleerd door het scannen van voertuigen en niet meer door parkeerwachters te voet. Op die manier kon parking.brussels, naar eigen zeggen, haar middelen concentreren op \u201cprocedures die echt een impact hadden\u201d. Dit zorgde niet bepaald voor een gelijke behandeling van alle bestuurders.<\/p>\n

Gelijke behandeling van alle bestuurders<\/h4>\n

Aan die willekeur komt nu een einde, want de parkeerwachters in Brussel gaan opnieuw voertuigen met buitenlandse nummerplaten controleren. Sinds november 2025 werkt parking.brussels samen met een gespecialiseerd bedrijf dat zich bezighoudt met internationale invordering.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlleen al in het eerste kwartaal van 2026 werd in het buitenland evenveel ge\u00efnd als in heel 2025\u201d, meldt parking.brussels. \u201cDeze resultaten maken een effici\u00ebnter en evenwichtiger beheer mogelijk van de dossiers van voertuigen ingeschreven in derde landen\u201d, zegt Floris Tack, CEO van parking.brussels. \u201cHet doel is duidelijk: zorgen voor een gelijke behandeling van alle bestuurders. Elke gebruiker van de openbare ruimte moet op een eerlijke en consequente manier aan dezelfde regels voldoen.\u201d<\/p>\n
