Renault vraagt Verkor \u201czijn koers te herzien\u201d en \u201dmet een geloofwaardig bestuur te komen\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe zullen nog lang een partner van Verkor blijven,\u201d zei Renault, dat 12% van de aandelen van Verkor bezit, \u201cmaar we moeten rekening houden met onze rol als industri\u00eble klant en onze eigen economische beperkingen.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Start in 2020<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2023\/11\/20\/verkors-foundation-stone-cements-dunkirk-as-battery-valley\/\">Verkor<\/a> is een Franse start-up die in 2020 is opgericht en een van de drie zogenaamde gigafabrieken voor batterijen in Noord-Frankrijk heeft gebouwd, met aanzienlijke steun van de Franse staat en de EU. De fabriek in Duinkerken vertegenwoordigt een investering van 1,5 miljard euro, waarvan de helft afkomstig is uit overheidsfondsen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDe concurrentiekloof tussen Verkor en andere bedrijven die vergelijkbare producten produceren in Europa is de afgelopen maanden groter geworden en kan niet worden opgevangen door Renault\u201d, legt de autofabrikant uit. Daarom heeft het concern bevestigd dat het geen Verkor-batterijcellen zal gebruiken in zijn nieuwe elektrische Master LCV.<\/p>\n<p>Met betrekking tot <a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2023\/04\/14\/renault-reserves-bulk-of-verkors-dunkirk-battery-production\/\">eerdere contracten met Verkor<\/a> Voor de levering van accucellen voor de Alpine A390 GT, die deel uitmaakt van de Sc\u00e9nic-portfolio, en de aankomende FlexEvan, onderstreept Renault dat het verplicht is om cellen te betrekken van de Zuid-Koreaanse LG-groep, die in Europa worden gemaakt. Natuurlijk heeft dit de kosten opgedreven.<\/p>\n<h4>Geloofwaardige routekaart<\/h4>\n<p>\u201cVerkor moet ons laten zien dat het zijn traject kan veranderen,\u201d legt Renault uit, en we vragen van hen een geloofwaardige roadmap en een even overtuigend bestuur.\u201d In een reactie heeft Verkor bevestigd dat het eerdere beloftes zal nakomen en de serieproductie \u2018in de tweede helft van 2026\u2019 zal starten, zoals beloofd bij de opening van de fabriek.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn een zeer snel veranderende omgeving zijn discussies en operationele aanpassingen essentieel voor elk industrieel project, vooral wanneer men zich in een ramp-up fase bevindt\u201d, zegt Verkor, dat bevestigt dat het zich volledig bewust is van de concurrentiedruk op de markt. \u201cVerkor zet haar inspanningen zeer actief voort om de concurrentiepositie te verbeteren en concrete antwoorden te geven op de doelstellingen van de klant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHet concurrentievermogen groeit geleidelijk met de industri\u00eble ramp-up, de opschaling van de volumes en de ontwikkelingssteun voor een Europees batterijproject dat onafhankelijk en concurrerend is,\u201d concludeert de batterijfabrikant.<\/p>\n<h4>Stellantis en ACC<\/h4>\n<p>Het andere (half) Franse productieconcern, Stellantis, heeft vergelijkbare problemen gehad met accufabrikant ACC, een joint venture tussen Stellantis, Mercedes en TotalEnergies. Ook daar stapelden de vertragingen zich op en onlangs werd de CEO vervangen door een topmanager van Panasonic, gevraagd om eindelijk de productiecapaciteit te verhogen.<\/p>\n<p>Terwijl de EU een Europees netwerk voor batterijproductie wil steunen om industri\u00eble onafhankelijkheid te verkrijgen, onderhandelt Frankrijk met Brussel over het vrijgeven van leningen die bedoeld zijn voor dit netwerk en vraagt het om een extra 500 miljoen euro voor Verkor en ACC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Renault Group is a shareholder and, temporarily, the only client of the French battery-cell producer Verkor, and on Monday, it severely criticized the company&#8217;s growing lack of competitiveness and the 18-month delay in starting production.
