Vanaf juli krijgt iedereen die betrapt wordt op rijden onder invloed een rijverbod van twaalf uur.\u00a0<\/span>Tot nu toe kon een rijverbod na een positieve alcoholtest twee, drie, zes of twaalf uur duren. <\/span><\/p>\n

De Federale Overheidsdienst Mobiliteit en Vervoer heeft dinsdag bekendgemaakt dat de wetswijziging in het Staatsblad is gepubliceerd.<\/span><\/p>\n

Door rijbewijzen systematisch voor twaalf uur in te trekken, wil de regering \u201ceen krachtig signaal afgeven dat onze samenleving de dodelijke combinatie van autorijden en alcohol niet langer tolereert\u201d.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Uniek<\/h4>\n

Het Belgische systeem van een onmiddellijk tijdelijk rijverbod, waardoor je niet verder mag rijden, is uniek. Andere landen kennen geen vergelijkbaar systeem van <\/span>\u201cJe even uit het verkeer halen, zodat je weer nuchter kunt worden.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In de meeste buurlanden leidt een voldoende hoog alcoholgehalte tot onmiddellijke inbeslagname of administratieve schorsing van het rijbewijs, vaak voor een periode van dagen tot maanden, in plaats van een korte blokkering van enkele uren.<\/span><\/p>\n

Andere Europese landen<\/h4>\n

In Nederland leidt een lichte overtreding meestal tot een boete en\/of strafrechtelijke vervolging. Vanaf een alcoholpromillage van 1,3\u2030 (of 0,8\u2030 voor beginnende bestuurders) kan de politie het rijbewijs onmiddellijk in beslag nemen.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Frankrijk kan de politie het rijbewijs onmiddellijk intrekken bij een alcoholpromillage van \u2265 0,8\u2030. Dit kan worden gevolgd door een schorsing van enkele maanden. <\/span>In Luxemburg kan de politie een rijbewijs onmiddellijk intrekken bij ernstige alcoholintoxicatie; de resterende duur wordt administratief of gerechtelijk vastgesteld.<\/span><\/p>\n

I<\/span>In Duitsland geldt er doorgaans geen standaard rijverbod ter plaatse voor lichte overtredingen. In ernstige gevallen kan de politie het rijbewijs onmiddellijk in beslag nemen in afwachting van een rechterlijke uitspraak.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
