Maar zoals bij veel beloften op het gebied van batterijen, zit er een addertje onder het gras.<\/p>\n<h4>Meer dan 1.000 km<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p2\">De cel van Dongfeng heeft een energiedichtheid van 350 Wh\/kg, wat ongeveer het dubbele is van de gangbare lithium-ijzerfosfaatcellen (LFP) van vandaag en een derde van die van lithium-ioncellen. Het accupakket zal naar verwachting een actieradius van meer dan 1.000 km mogelijk maken, terwijl het 30% minder weegt dan een conventioneel lithium-ion-equivalent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Dongfeng noemt deze accu\u2019s officieel \u2018solid-state\u2019, maar \u2013 nogmaals \u2013 \u2018semi-solid-state\u2019 is een nauwkeurigere omschrijving. De accu maakt gebruik van een elektrolyt op basis van een oxide-polymeercomposiet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Dat betekent dat de cel niet louter een halfgeleiderapparaat is in de zin waarin natuurkundigen of ingenieurs bij Toyota of QuantumScape die term zouden gebruiken. Het is wat in de branche een hybride constructie wordt genoemd, waarbij vast elektrolytmateriaal wordt gecombineerd met resterende vloeibare elementen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Dit is geen onbeduidend meningsverschil over de definitie. De Chinese toezichthouder voor de sector heeft regels opgesteld om de naamgeving te standaardiseren, waarbij specifiek wordt vereist dat halfvaste batterijen \u2018vast-vloeibare batterijen\u2019 worden genoemd om verwarring bij het publiek met de volledig vaste variant te voorkomen.<\/p>\n<h4>In de voetsporen van MG<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p2\">Dat onderscheid is van belang omdat de voordelen op het gebied van veiligheid en energiedichtheid van echte volledig vaste-stofchemie aanzienlijk groter zijn dan wat oxide-polymeercomposieten momenteel bieden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Deze laatste worden gezien als een opstapje naar de eerste. In dat opzicht treedt Dongfeng in de voetsporen van MG, dat zijn Solid Core-batterijpakket met halfvaste elektroden al op de markt heeft gebracht en tegen het einde van het jaar naar Europa komt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Nu dat uit de weg is, blijven de aantoonbare prestatiecijfers van de accu van Dongfeng indrukwekkend. Bij koudetests bij wintertemperaturen van -30 \u00b0C behield de accu meer dan 741 TP3T van zijn laadcapaciteit en leverde hij een totaal bereik van meer dan 1.000 km.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Die prestatiecijfers bij lage temperaturen betekenen een aanzienlijke verbetering ten opzichte van conventionele lithium-ionbatterijen, die bij dezelfde temperatuur doorgaans ongeveer 60% behouden.<\/p>\n<h4>De meest haalbare weg naar massaproductie<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p2\">Ook de resultaten van de veiligheidstests zijn opmerkelijk. De cel bleef functioneren nadat deze tot de helft van zijn oorspronkelijke dikte was samengedrukt, en doorstond een hittetest bij 170 \u00b0C zonder rook of vuur te produceren.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Ter vergelijking: de nationale veiligheidsnorm in China ligt op 130 \u00b0C. Door het wegvallen van vloeibare elektrolyt wordt het brandgevaar aanzienlijk verminderd in vergelijking met conventionele cellen, ook al wordt het niet volledig uitgesloten (zoals bij halfgeleidercellen).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">De half-vaste-stofbatterij wordt in de sector algemeen erkend als de meest haalbare weg naar een snelle acceptatie op de massamarkt, omdat deze compatibel is met zowel bestaande productieapparatuur als gevestigde toeleveringsketens voor materialen. Het autoconcern maakte deze week bekend dat het is begonnen met het testen van prototypes van zijn Dodge Charger, een elektrische sportwagen met solid-state-batterijcellen van leverancier Factorial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Dit is een authentieke solid-state-accu die in slechts 18 minuten tot 90% kan worden opgeladen en een energiedichtheid van 375 Wh\/kg biedt. De tests vormen een praktijkcontrole van de laboratoriumresultaten. De cellen zijn ge\u00efntegreerd in een bestaande accuconstructie om industri\u00eble toepassingen sneller op te schalen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Toch is het project nog niet meer dan een voorzichtige test, aangezien er geen tijdschema is bekendgemaakt voor de validatie en de definitieve productie.
