Lantis,\u00a0de ontwikkelaar van het gigantische Oosterweel-project in Antwerpen heeft afgelopen zondag een nieuwe fietsroute geopend die bezoekers langs de bouwplaats voert.\u00a0<\/span>De fietsers krijgen meer uitleg over de werkzaamheden en een indruk van hoe de omgeving er in de toekomst uit zal zien.<\/span><\/p>\n

De route van ongeveer 15 kilometer, die begint bij \u2018Het Steen\u2019, volgt het bestaande netwerk van fietsknooppunten en voert de deelnemers onder meer langs het toekomstige knooppunt Oosterweel, de Kanaaltunnels en de omgeving van Antwerpen-Luchtbal. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rondleidingen<\/h4>\n

Bezoekers kunnen bij zeven uitkijkpunten stoppen en genieten van een prachtig 360-gradenuitzicht op de kunstwerken. Ze<\/span>\u00a0kunnen de route zelfstandig afleggen met behulp van een online gids of een gratis fietskaart.\u00a0<\/span>Er zijn ook rondleidingen per fiets of bus mogelijk.<\/span><\/p>\n

De Oosterweelverbinding moet de ringweg rond Antwerpen voltooien en de doorstroming van het verkeer in de omgeving van Antwerpen verbeteren. Tegelijkertijd moet het project zorgen voor een betere leefbaarheid in de stad.<\/span><\/p>\n

De infrastructuur op de linkeroever is grotendeels voltooid en de Scheldetunnel tussen de twee oevers wordt momenteel afgerond. Op de rechteroever komen de bouwplaatsen echter in volle gang. Als alles volgens plan verloopt, zal de volledige Oosterweelverbinding in 2033 voltooid zijn.<\/span><\/p>\n
