China streeft ernaar om tegen 2030 een marktaandeel van 40% te behalen voor elektrische zware vrachtwagens. Dat is bijna de helft van de nationale verkoop van vrachtwagens over minder dan vijf jaar. En als we mogen afgaan op de nieuwe energieauto's en -bestelwagens van het land, of het beleid inzake hernieuwbare energie, neemt de Volksrepubliek geen halve maatregelen wanneer zij besluit dat een sector moet veranderen. Dit keer is dat niet anders.<\/p>

Het masterplan voor het koolstofvrij maken van het zware vrachtwagenpark is geen verlanglijstje, maar een stappenplan dat voortbouwt op een markt die al de goede kant op gaat. In 2025 werden in China 231.100 emissievrije zware vrachtwagens met een gewicht van meer dan 12 ton verkocht, een stijging van 182% ten opzichte van het voorgaande jaar. De penetratiegraad bereikte 29% over het hele jaar. Alleen al in december bereikte deze kortstondig 54%.<\/p>
