We hebben onlangs gemeld dat het failliete busfabrikant Van Hool<\/a> uit Koninkshooikt (Lier, Belgi\u00eb) had een terrein van 30 hectare voor bedrijfsuitbreiding te koop aangeboden, en dat de Vlaamse regering aan de biedingsprocedure deelnam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ondertussen,\u00a0de biedingsperiode is afgelopen en het perceel in Lier <\/span>is verkocht voor 21,5 miljoen euro.\u00a0<\/span>Vlaanderen toonde interesse, maar werd uiteindelijk niet de koper. <\/span>Dat heeft minister-president Matthias Diependaele zojuist bekendgemaakt. <\/span><\/p>\n

De <\/span>De prijs was vastgesteld op 20 miljoen euro, en de Vlaamse regering heeft inderdaad 20 miljoen euro geboden, maar de koper, die op dit moment nog onbekend is, heeft dat bedrag overtroffen. <\/span><\/p>\n

Aanzienlijke belangstelling<\/h4>\n

Kort voordat de veiling afliep, bleek er aanzienlijke belangstelling voor het perceel te zijn. Biddit registreerde in totaal<\/span> zeven biedingen op het terrein van Van Hool, <\/span>waaronder \u00e9\u00e9n van de Vlaamse regering. De minister-president beschouwt de belangstelling van de markt als een hoopvol teken dat Vlaanderen aantrekkelijk blijft.<\/span><\/p>\n

Potenti\u00eble kopers hadden zich vooraf aangemeld bij de stad Lier, die verantwoordelijk is voor de afgifte van de vergunningen. \u201cHet gaat om drie bedrijven die al actief zijn in Belgi\u00eb en hun activiteiten hier willen uitbreiden. Een vierde bedrijf komt uit het buitenland en overweegt voor het eerst een vestiging in Belgi\u00eb te openen. De bedrijven zijn actief in onderhoud, montage en productie\u201d, legde burgemeester Verwaest afgelopen weekend uit in de Gazet van Antwerpen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Een gouden kans<\/h4>\n

\u201cMet ons bod wilden we vooral ervoor zorgen dat er snel nieuwe economische activiteiten konden worden opgezet,\u201d legt Diependaele uit.\u00a0<\/span>Industrieterreinen zijn schaars geworden in Vlaanderen en bovendien sterk versnipperd. Een groot industrieterrein van 30 hectare, zoals dat van Van Hool, was dan ook een uitgelezen kans voor de Vlaamse regering om een grote investeerder aan te trekken.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn het belang van onze economie moet dit terrein zo snel mogelijk worden herbestemd voor industri\u00eble ontwikkeling. Daartoe zullen we zo spoedig mogelijk overleg aangaan met de nieuwe eigenaar en de lokale overheid.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Er is geen tijd te verliezen\u2019<\/h4>\n

De curator van Van Hool moet het bod nog goedkeuren, maar\u00a0<\/span>heeft tot 24 juni de tijd om de transactie af te wijzen<\/span>. Met de opbrengst kan hij al een deel van de schulden aflossen <\/span>van Immoroc, de vastgoedonderneming van Van Hool.<\/span><\/p>\n

Volgens de werkgeversfederatie Voka zou het terrein door een hightech industri\u00eble investering tot 8.600 banen en 1 miljard euro aan toegevoegde waarde kunnen opleveren.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cDe regio heeft behoefte aan een snelle ontwikkeling van het Van Hool-terrein.
