Polestar heeft meer details bekendgemaakt over de aanstaande nieuwe versie van de 4. Hoewel er geruchten de ronde doen dat het om een shooting brake zou gaan, krijgt het model de naam SUV en komt het op 2 september op de markt. In ieder geval keert de achterruit terug, die bij de oorspronkelijke 4 was vervangen door een camera.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Een achterruit klinkt misschien als het absolute minimum voor een auto, maar bij de oorspronkelijke Polestar 4 \u2013 die als \u2018coup\u00e9\u2019 werd aangeduid toen het nieuws over een nieuwe versie bekend werd gemaakt \u2013 was de achterruit volledig weggelaten.<\/p>\n

De bestuurder bekijkt het verkeer achter zich via een digitale achteruitkijkspiegel. Het blijkt dat klanten graag via glas willen zien wat er achter hen gebeurt. Wie had dat gedacht?<\/p>\n

Dezelfde basisprincipes<\/h4>\n

De SUV-benaming van de nieuwe variant klinkt een stuk minder intimiderend. Het is duidelijk dat de nieuwe 4-variant op hetzelfde platform is gebaseerd als zijn broertje, maar het silhouet zal praktischer zijn. Het is moeilijk te zeggen hoeveel praktischer hij precies is, aangezien Polestar alleen een ingezoomde detailfoto van de achterkant in driekwartperspectief heeft vrijgegeven.<\/p>\n

Met zijn bagageruimte die vergelijkbaar is met die van een stationwagen en zijn panoramadak richt deze SUV zich duidelijk op kopers die op zoek zijn naar de strakke vormgeving, zonder de beperkte hoofdruimte achterin die bij een coup\u00e9 hoort.<\/p>\n

Het is onvermijdelijk dat een wijziging in het ontwerp invloed heeft op de aerodynamica en de actieradius. Maar met een verwachte WLTP-actieradius van 630 km voor de Long Range-versie met achterwielaandrijving blijft deze vergelijkbaar met die van de Coup\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Met zo\u2019n actieradius neemt het model een comfortabele positie in binnen het segment van de premium-EV\u2019s, zonder echter de Europese 800 V-concurrenten (Mercedes GLC, BMW iX3, Volvo EX60) te evenaren, waarvan de elektrische SUV\u2019s van de tweede generatie moeiteloos de 800 kilometer benaderen.<\/p>\n

Er komt ook een variant met twee motoren beschikbaar, met een vermogen van maximaal 544 hp. Beide aandrijflijnopties halen hun stroom uit een accupakket van 102 kWh en maken gebruik van een 400-volt-netwerk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Net als de Coup\u00e9 zal de SUV worden geassembleerd in Busan, Zuid-Korea, waardoor handelsbarri\u00e8res voor de export naar Europa worden omzeild. Vanwege softwarebeperkingen komt de auto niet in aanmerking voor verkoop in de VS, wat betekent dat Europa de belangrijkste afzetmarkt blijft.<\/p>\n

Bijna acht op de tien Polestars worden daar verkocht. In Belgi\u00eb is het model een welkome aanvulling om de verkoopcijfers een impuls te geven. In vergelijking met vorig jaar heeft het merk dit jaar 22,6% minder exemplaren verkocht, waardoor het zich eerder in dezelfde klasse bevindt als Xpeng dan als Tesla.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

De grote vraag is of de SUV-carrosserie de grootste tekortkoming van de coup\u00e9 kan verhelpen: de bruikbaarheid. De oorspronkelijke Polestar 4 had een verbluffend ontwerp, maar door de lage daklijn is het model voor gezinnen moeilijk te verkopen.
