De nettowinst van het bedrijf lag lager dan de 2,29 miljard euro in het tweede kwartaal van 2025, toen de winst al met 36% was gedaald ten opzichte van een jaar eerder.<\/p>\n<p>De leveringen van voertuigen binnen de hele groep daalden in het kwartaal met bijna 9% tot 2,08 miljoen, zo maakte Volkswagen eerder bekend. De leveringen in China, de grootste markt van het concern, daalden met meer dan een derde tot 424.300 voertuigen, terwijl de verkoop buiten China beter presteerde.<\/p>\n<p>Algemeen directeur Oliver Blume heeft eerder gewaarschuwd dat invoerheffingen, oorlogen, geopolitieke spanningen en toenemende concurrentie het bedrijf tegenwerken. \u201cDe maatregelen die in het verleden toereikend leken, zullen niet volstaan om de bijgestelde doelstellingen te halen en de toekomst van de groep op lange termijn veilig te stellen.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Weerstand tegen nieuwe bezuinigingsplannen<\/h4>\n<p>Volkswagen <a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2026\/07\/10\/is-volkswagen-considering-closing-4-plants-in-germany\/\">heeft al plannen bekendgemaakt<\/a> om tegen 2030 50.000 banen in Duitsland te schrappen, waarvan 35.000 bij het kernmerk Volkswagen en de rest bij dochterondernemingen zoals Audi en Porsche. Meer dan 37.000 werknemers hebben overeenkomsten ondertekend om het bedrijf te verlaten.<\/p>\n<p>In zijn nieuwe bezuinigingsplan, \u2018Group Target Picture 2030\u2019, wil Blume wereldwijd nog eens 50.000 banen schrappen, voornamelijk bij de administratieve diensten. Het plan voorziet ook in een aanzienlijke verlaging van de productiecapaciteit en de productie van auto\u2019s (van 12 naar 9 miljoen per jaar) en een grondige vereenvoudiging van het modelaanbod (-50%) en het optiebeleid (-75%).<\/p>\n<p>De plannen stuiten op weerstand van de werknemersvertegenwoordigers en de Duitse deelstaat Nedersaksen, die een 20%-belang in Volkswagen bezit en twee zetels in de raad van commissarissen bekleedt. Samen met de werknemersvertegenwoordigers hebben zij een meerderheid in de raad, waar de laatste voorstellen volgens berichten in de media aanvankelijk geen goedkeuring kregen.<\/p>\n<p>Blume streeft ernaar het nieuwe bezuinigingspakket voor de groep nog voor het einde van het jaar erdoor te krijgen, en zegt er alle vertrouwen in te hebben dat de raad van commissarissen tegen die tijd besluiten hierover zal nemen. \u201cWe verwachten dat we daar tegen het einde van het jaar flinke vooruitgang in zullen hebben geboekt,\u201d zei Blume in een interview met het Duitse persbureau dpa.<\/p>\n<h4>China<\/h4>\n<p>Op de grootste automarkt ter wereld heeft Volkswagen in het tweede kwartaal (opnieuw) een omzetdaling van 36,6% moeten incasseren. \u201cDe Chinese concurrenten exporteren niet alleen hun producten naar Europa, maar ook de concurrentiedruk\u201d, merkte VW-CFO Arno Antlitz op. Dit heeft CEO Oliver Blume ertoe aangezet de Europese Commissie te vragen de aanvullende invoertarieven op Chinese elektrische auto\u2019s uit te breiden naar PHEV\u2019s en EREV\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Volkswagen wil hierop inspelen met zijn strategisch plan \u2018China for China\u2019, waarbij voertuigen worden gebouwd die specifiek zijn afgestemd op de verwachtingen van Chinese klanten, in plaats van modellen aan te passen die oorspronkelijk voor de Europese markt waren ontworpen. De groep wil v\u00f3\u00f3r eind 2027 30 nieuwe modellen in China op de markt brengen, aldus Blume, in een (oververhitte) markt \u201cwaar alleen al in het eerste halfjaar van dit jaar zo\u2019n 500 nieuwe modellen zijn ge\u00efntroduceerd.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Voormalige winstbronnen blijven het moeilijk hebben<\/h4>\n<p>Audi en Porsche, ooit twee van de meest winstgevende merken van de Volkswagen-groep, hebben het nog steeds moeilijk.<br \/>\nIn het tweede kwartaal daalde de omzet van Audi van 17,1 miljard euro een jaar eerder naar 15 miljard euro. Tegelijkertijd daalde het bedrijfsresultaat verder ten opzichte van het toch al zwakke niveau dat in dezelfde periode vorig jaar werd genoteerd.<\/p>\n<p>Bij sportwagenfabrikant Porsche AG daalde de omzet uit de automobielsector, exclusief financi\u00eble diensten, van 8,3 miljard euro een jaar eerder naar 7,8 miljard euro. Porsche bevindt zich bovendien midden in een grootschalig herstructureringsprogramma en is van plan nog meer banen te schrappen.<\/p>\n<h4>Weersvoorspelling<\/h4>\n<p>Gezien al deze problemen heeft Volkswagen zijn omzetprognose voor 2026 bijgesteld: de omzet zal nu uitkomen tussen -3% en 0%, terwijl deze eerder tussen 0% en +3% lag. De operationele marge is daarentegen gehandhaafd op 4 tot 5,5%. In de tweede helft van het jaar bedroeg deze 3,8%.<\/p>\n<p>Als de nieuwe strategie volgens plan verloopt, wil de Volkswagen-groep tegen 2030 weer een winstmarge van 8 tot 10% behalen. De kasstroom is in het eerste halfjaar van 2026 gestegen tot 4,5 miljard euro, vergeleken met een negatief cijfer vorig jaar, wat aangeeft dat de groep nog steeds voldoende financi\u00eble ruimte heeft om omvangrijke investeringen te financieren.<\/p>\n<p>De recente vooruitgang op de Europese markt heeft hier ongetwijfeld een rol gespeeld: het orderboek voor volledig elektrische voertuigen is met meer dan 50% gegroeid ten opzichte van vorig jaar, en de eerste reacties op de kleinere, betaalbaardere EV\u2019s die nu op de markt komen (VW ID. Polo en ID.
