Afgelopen woensdag meldden we dat het Belgische Innoptus Solar Team op de vierde dag van de American Solar Challenge de eerste plaats had behaald.<\/p>\n

Vandaag heeft het team bekendgemaakt dat zijn positie in de race ongewijzigd is gebleven, ondanks een aanzienlijke verandering in de weersomstandigheden.<\/p>\n

Een berekend risico<\/h4>\n

De grijze lucht en de dichte mist \u2013 allesbehalve ideaal om de accu op te laden \u2013 brachten het team ertoe een berekend risico te nemen en zo snel mogelijk naar een zonniger gebied te rijden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dat kostte wat extra energie, maar toen we eenmaal het zonnige stuk bereikten, konden we het wat rustiger aan doen, langer in het zonlicht rijden en de nodige UV-straling opnemen om onze batterij goed op te laden. <\/span>Aan het eind van de dag had het team een voorsprong van 38 km opgebouwd op hun concurrenten uit Delft.<\/p>\n
