<\/p>\nAir France-KLM zag zijn nettowinst in het tweede kwartaal met 71% dalen tot 190 miljoen euro. Dit is het gevolg van de sterke stijging van de kerosineprijzen als gevolg van de oorlog in het Midden-Oosten.<\/p>\n
Anderzijds slaagde de luchtvaartgroep erin het leeuwendeel van die hogere kerosinekosten door te berekenen aan de passagiers. De groep berekende 88% van de hogere brandstofkosten door via hogere ticketprijzen.<\/p>\n
De kerosinekosten van Air France-KLM zijn het afgelopen kwartaal met meer dan 800 miljoen euro gestegen ten opzichte van dezelfde periode vorig jaar. Voor het hele jaar zal de brandstofrekening naar verwachting uitkomen op 8,9 miljard dollar, een daling ten opzichte van de eerder geraamde 9,3 miljard dollar. In 2025 bedroeg die rekening nog 6,0 miljard dollar.<\/p>\n
De omzet uit vrachtvluchten steeg met meer dan een kwart (+26,7%). Volgens het bedrijf is dit mede te wijten aan de oorlog in Iran. Luchtvervoer bood klanten meer zekerheid dan vervoer over zee. Ook hier werden de prijzen verhoogd.<\/p>\n

Het bedrijf rapporteerde een nettoverlies over de eerste helft van het jaar, net als in 2021, 2022 en 2024. Dit keer bedroeg het verlies 61 miljoen euro, tegenover een nettowinst van 401 miljoen euro in 2025.<\/p>\n
Over het geheel genomen wist KLM de gecorrigeerde bedrijfswinst grotendeels stabiel te houden op 176 miljoen euro, de winst van Air France daalde met 290 miljoen tot 225 miljoen euro, en Transavia boekte een operationeel verlies van 35 miljoen euro omdat de bescheiden stijging van de opbrengst per eenheid met 1,6% de stijging van de brandstofkosten met 50% niet kon compenseren.<\/p>\n
De groep heeft ook haar prognose voor de capaciteitsgroei in 2026 licht bijgesteld naar 2 tot 3% \u2013 een daling ten opzichte van de eerdere prognose van 2 tot 4%. Zo zal het aantal vluchten worden teruggeschroefd op routes met sterke concurrentie in Europa, zoals D\u00fcsseldorf en Londen.<\/p>\n
Desondanks omschreef CEO Benjamin Smith de commerci\u00eble prestaties van het bedrijf tot nu toe als solide, dankzij de aanhoudend sterke vraag naar reizen in de premiumklassen, met name van en naar Azi\u00eb en Noord-Amerika.<\/p>\n
Net als veel van haar concurrenten wil Air France-KLM haar klanten \u2013 met name op langeafstandsvluchten, waar de marges hoger liggen \u2013 stimuleren om meer te betalen voor meer comfort.<\/p>\n
Tegen het einde van het jaar zal naar verwachting ook de integratie van de Scandinavische luchtvaartmaatschappij SAS zijn afgerond (d.w.z. goedkeuring door de toezichthoudende autoriteiten). Door de overname zal het belang van de groep in SAS stijgen van 19,9% naar 60,5%.<\/p>\n
Hierdoor voegt de groep een derde grote internationale transferhub toe aan haar portfolio (Kopenhagen), naast Parijs-Charles de Gaulle en Amsterdam-Schiphol.<\/p>\n
Air France-KLM streeft er ook naar om tot 49,9% van TAP Air Portugal over te nemen, dat momenteel wordt geprivatiseerd. Woensdag heeft het bedrijf daartoe een bindend bod uitgebracht, tegelijk met zijn concurrent Lufthansa.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
