Een toenemende\u00a0Volgens onderzoek van ABN AMRO tanken veel Nederlanders die in de grensstreek met Belgi\u00eb wonen hun auto in Belgi\u00eb vol. <\/span>Inmiddels is ongeveer 15 procent van het benzineverbruik in die regio verschoven naar Belgi\u00eb.<\/span><\/p>\n

De Nederlandse stromen massaal naar Belgi\u00eb om hun tank vol te tanken, nu het prijsverschil voor benzine 70 cent per liter bedraagt \u2013 <\/span>een kloof die groter is dan ooit tevoren.\u00a0<\/span>In Belgi\u00eb bedraagt de maximumprijs voor een liter benzine momenteel 1,866 euro, tegenover 2,599 euro per liter in Nederland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Het Nederlandse cijfer is echter niet de gemiddelde prijs die automobilisten daadwerkelijk betalen, maar de agemiddelde nationale adviesprijs (<\/span>Gemiddelde Landelijke Adviesprijs (GLA), gebaseerd op de adviesprijzen van de grote oliemaatschappijen. Op 6 augustus bedroeg die adviesprijs \u20ac 2,578.<\/p>\n

Historisch gezien uitzonderlijk<\/h4>\n

Uit de vergelijking van de Europese Commissie op dezelfde datum, 3 augustus, bleek dat de gemiddelde prijs voor Euro 95 in Belgi\u00eb ongeveer \u20ac 1,883 bedroeg en in Nederland \u20ac 2,370. Het representatieve verschil bedroeg dus iets minder dan 49 cent (48,7 om precies te zijn) per liter, in plaats van 70 cent, wat natuurlijk nog steeds enorm is.<\/p>\n

Het huidige verschil is historisch gezien uitzonderlijk, en 2026 lijkt op weg om het grootste jaargemiddelde verschil in de reeks te laten zien, maar deze specifieke week is geen absoluut record. Het spectaculaire cijfer van 70 cent komt pas naar voren door een Belgische maximumprijs te vergelijken met een adviesprijs van een Nederlandse oliemaatschappij.<\/p>\n

Maar waarom liggen de prijzen in Nederland dan zo veel hoger?<\/h4>\n

De Nederlandse accijns op benzine bedraagt dit jaar 84,5 cent per liter, terwijl Belgi\u00eb ongeveer 60 cent heft. Beide landen hanteren een btw-tarief van 21%. Het directe accijnsverschil bedraagt daarmee ongeveer 24,5 cent, wat slechts ongeveer de helft is van het huidige verschil in verkoopprijs.<\/p>\n

Er is ook een structureel verschil in prijsstelling. In Belgi\u00eb geldt een maximumprijsregeling. Tankstations mogen lagere prijzen hanteren, met name buiten de snelwegen. In Nederland bestaat er geen vergelijkbaar maximum, terwijl tankstations langs de snelweg en tankstations van bekende ketens vaak dicht bij de hoge adviesprijs blijven.<\/p>\n

Wachtrijen bij drukke grensovergangen<\/h4>\n

Belgische stations in drukke grensgebieden zoals Meerle, Essen, Zelzate en Baarle-Hertog melden wachtrijen, frequentere tankwagenleveringen en verkeersproblemen. Sommige gemeenten hebben zelfs co\u00f6rdinatoren aangesteld om het brandstoftoerisme in goede banen te leiden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Het effect van tanktoerisme in Nederland is zichtbaar tot op ongeveer 30 kilometer van de Belgische grens.<\/span> De bewering dat de helft van de Nederlanders \u2018op grote schaal\u2019 in Belgi\u00eb tankt, is echter overdreven en kan niet worden doorgerekend naar Nederland als geheel.<\/p>\n

Sommigen vullen inderdaad ook jerrycans, maar op grond van de ADR-vrijstelling voor gevaarlijke goederen mag een particulier tot 240 liter brandstof vervoeren in hervulbare containers, met een maximum van 60 liter per container, op voorwaarde dat de brandstof voor persoonlijk gebruik is bestemd en dat er maatregelen zijn genomen om lekkage te voorkomen.<\/p>\n

De Nederlandse douane geeft tevens aan dat een particulier brandstof uit een andere EU-lidstaat in de tank van zijn voertuig of in een draagbare reservejerrycan voor persoonlijk gebruik mag meenemen zonder opnieuw Nederlandse accijns te hoeven betalen. Het vervoeren van benzine in een gewone personenauto brengt echter een duidelijk risico op brand, dampvorming en lekkage met zich mee.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
