Een rechter heeft een bewoner in de buurt van het station van Lokeren in het gelijk gesteld in een klacht over geluidsoverlast door dieseltreinen die daar met draaiende motor in de stand-by staan. Als gevolg van deze uitspraak moet de Belgische spoorwegmaatschappij NMBS\/SNCB haar dienstregeling aanpassen voor treinen die Lokeren, de regio Gent en Ronse aandoen, en vice versa.<\/p>\n

De rechtbank heeft de NMBS\/SNCB met name verboden om v\u00f3\u00f3r 7.00 uur en na 19.00 uur dieseltreinen op het station stand-by te houden. Dit heeft onmiddellijk gevolgen voor de dienstregeling tijdens die uren, met name voor lijn S53, die tussen Lokeren en Ronse rijdt, omdat een deel van het traject tussen Ronse en De Pinte geen bovenleiding heeft, waardoor elektrische treinen daar niet kunnen rijden.<\/p>\n

De S53-lijn wordt hierdoor bijzonder zwaar getroffen<\/h4>\n

Zo zullen er in Gent-Dampoort slechts vier treinen per uur van en naar Gent-Sint-Pieters rijden in plaats van vijf; in Lokeren drie in plaats van vier; en in Gentbrugge slechts \u00e9\u00e9n trein per uur in elke richting in plaats van twee.<\/p>\n

Beervelde behoudt \u00e9\u00e9n verbinding per uur, omdat de NMBS\/SNCB de IC-trein Oostende-Antwerpen daar laat stoppen; anders zouden er na de afschaffing van de dieseltrein helemaal geen treinen meer in Beervelde stoppen.<\/p>\n

Elektrische treinen in 2031<\/h4>\n

De spoorwegmaatschappij benadrukt dat de wijziging \u2013 die bijvoorbeeld voor forenzen uit de regio Gent die in Gent-Sint-Pieters moeten overstappen om verder te reizen naar Gent-Dampoort een overstaptijd van 25 minuten met zich meebrengt \u2013 tijdelijk is en dat zij werkt aan een permanente oplossing.<\/p>\n

\u201cDe NMBS\/SCNB doet er alles aan om dit zo snel mogelijk door te voeren, zodat de tijdelijke beperking van het treinaanbod tot een minimum kan worden beperkt\u201d, aldus de woordvoerder. Op langere termijn, vanaf 2031, zou de vervanging van dieseltreinen door moderne elektrische treinen en treinen op batterijen het probleem moeten oplossen.<\/p>\n

De NMBS\/SNCB heeft 96 MW41-treinstellen laten bouwen, maar door schade zijn er nog maar ongeveer 93 in dienst. Na een nacht stil te hebben gestaan, hebben de treinstellen vaak moeite om op gang te komen of starten ze helemaal niet. Als oplossing laat de NMBS\/SNCB ze de hele nacht draaien of start ze ze heel vroeg in de ochtend op, en dat is precies wat de geluidsoverlast veroorzaakt.<\/p>\n

Inwoners van Geraardsbergen klagen bijvoorbeeld al lang dat dieseltreinen al vanaf 4 uur \u2019s ochtends stationair draaien om warm te blijven. Momenteel zijn er in Oost-Vlaanderen nog vijf niet-ge\u00eblektrificeerde lijnen waarop de MW41 rijdt.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
