Toen Hyundai vier maanden geleden de Ioniq V op de autosalon van Peking onthulde, ging men er nog steeds van uit dat er geen concrete plannen waren om deze futuristisch ogende elektrische hatchback naar Europa te brengen. Maar de CEO van Hyundai spreekt openlijk over de export van in China gebouwde auto\u2019s naar het westen, en de V zou wel eens goed genoeg kunnen zijn om een internationaal reispaspoort te krijgen.<\/p>\n

Hyundai is in China begonnen met de voorverkoop van de Ioniq V. Het model, dat eruitziet als een stoerdere, volledig elektrische Toyota Prius, wordt niet alleen in China gebouwd; om marktaandeel terug te winnen heeft het lokale ontwerpcentrum van het bedrijf het ook ontworpen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Verkoopprijs: 15.000 euro<\/h4>\n

En dat niet alleen: de toegepaste stijl is werkelijk indrukwekkend. Voor een elektrische auto van 4,9 meter met 800 volt en CATL LFP-accu's is de prijs van 119.900 yuan, ofwel ongeveer 15.000 euro, concurrerend (houd er rekening mee dat de prijzen in China doorgaans veel gunstiger zijn dan in Europa).<\/p>\n

Een ander meevaller voor Hyundai is dat de notoir snelle Chinese ontwikkelingscyclus precies verloopt zoals Hyundai had gehoopt: de volledige marktintroductie is uitgesteld tot september, terwijl aanvankelijk begin 2027 als streefdatum was vastgesteld.<\/p>\n

De herziene China-strategie van Hyundai, die expliciet \u201cIn China, For China, To Global\u201d wordt genoemd, lijkt vorm te krijgen. En dat betekent dat het onderdeel \u201cTo Global\u201d belangrijk wordt. Jose Munoz, CEO van Hyundai, zei: \u201cWe willen echt vanuit China naar andere markten exporteren, maar we willen hier eerst succesvol zijn.\u201d Hij noemde expliciet Groot-Brittanni\u00eb, Europa en het Midden-Oosten als mogelijke bestemmingen.<\/p>\n

Bestemd voor de export<\/h4>\n

De Europese persdienst van Hyundai meldt het nieuws over de Ioniq V en vermijdt bewust de term \u201calleen voor de Chinese markt\u201d. In de kleine lettertjes staat: \u201cDe beschikbaarheid en toepasbaarheid op andere markten zullen in een later stadium worden beoordeeld.\u201d Het nieuwsmedium CNEVPost gaat nog een stap verder en stelt dat de auto \u201cbestemd is voor export naar wereldwijde markten.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maar we moeten niet rekenen op een prijskaartje van 15.000 euro, en ook het argument van de \u2018europeanisering\u2019 klinkt niet overtuigend. Beijing Hyundai staat niet op de EU-lijst van meewerkende Chinese producenten en is dus onderworpen aan het hoogst mogelijke strafrechtelijke tarief van 35,31 TP3T, plus het gewone tarief van 101 TP3T op in China gebouwde BEV's.<\/p>\n

Dat komt neer op een 45,31 TP3T-tarief voordat de auto Zeebrugge bereikt. De Ioniq V zou wellicht eerder in de haven van Southampton of Drammen aankomen, aangezien het Verenigd Koninkrijk, net als Noorwegen, geen aanvullende invoertarieven hanteert.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Te veel op de Ioniq 6 lijken?<\/h4>\n

Maar goed, Europa heeft al een elektrische Hyundai-fastback van 4,9 meter. De vernieuwde Ioniq 6 is in Belgi\u00eb verkrijgbaar vanaf ongeveer \u20ac 46.000, biedt accuopties van 63 kWh en 84 kWh en haalt een WLTP-actieradius van 680 km. De Ioniq V is 4.900 mm lang en heeft een wielbasis van 2.900 mm. Hij past op dezelfde parkeerplaats.<\/p>\n

Bovendien zou de auto moeten worden aangepast om te voldoen aan de homologatie-eisen. Het gaat niet alleen om het herontwerpen van de veiligheids- en mechanische details (de Duitse Autobahn blijft een eeuwige uitdaging). De Ioniq V draait op Chinese technologie, die aangepast zou moeten worden om te voldoen aan de AVG en de regels op het gebied van cyberbeveiliging.<\/p>\n

Net als BMW, Volkswagen en Renault beschouwt Hyundai China steeds meer als de wereldwijde uitvalsbasis voor de ontwikkeling van zijn elektrische auto\u2019s. Maar geopolitieke beperkingen lijken een rem te zetten op de strategie om volledig in China ontwikkelde auto\u2019s te exporteren, in plaats van alleen het platform te lenen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
