V\u00f3\u00f3r de zomer, Oliver Blume, CEO van de VW-groep waarschuwde voor nog eens 50.000 ontslagen<\/a> wereldwijd, waarmee het totaal op 100.000 komt zodra de herstructurering van de groep is afgerond. De werknemersvertegenwoordigers vrezen dat er bovenop deze 100.000 nog eens 40.000 banen zullen verdwijnen, waardoor het totale aantal werknemers van de VW-groep wereldwijd zal dalen van 660.000 naar ongeveer 520.000.<\/p>

Oliver Blume is inmiddels begonnen aan een rondreis langs de Duitse fabrieken om uit te leggen waarom deze banenverliezen noodzakelijk zijn. Volgens geruchten zou de helft daarvan in Duitsland plaatsvinden. Blume\u2019s belangrijkste argument is dat de vaste kosten van de groep 30% hoger liggen dan die van veel concurrenten.
