Bij de start van het nieuwe schooljaar in Vlaanderen is het bij De Lijn traditioneel erg druk, omdat deze openbaarvervoersmaatschappij ook bussen inzet voor leerlingen in het speciaal onderwijs.<\/p>\n

In juni ontstond er veel opschudding omdat de Vlaamse minister van Mobiliteit, Annick De Ridder (N-VA), van plan was om kosten besparen<\/a> tijdens die ritten, maar die begrotingsaanpassing werd uiteindelijk geschrapt. Als gevolg daarvan zullen er vanaf 1 september dagelijks meer dan 2.100 ritten worden uitgevoerd voor het vervoer van leerlingen in het speciaal onderwijs.<\/p>\n

3.750 \u20ac per kind<\/h4>\n

De Lijn beheert het schoolvervoer, met een budget van 150 miljoen euro, maar de ritten worden uitgevoerd door meer dan 100 verschillende vervoerders. Vanaf 1 september zullen zij dagelijks 2.132 ritten uitvoeren, waarbij een netwerk van 45.000 opstapplaatsen wordt bediend \u2013 sommige leerlingen stappen op verschillende dagen op verschillende locaties in \u2013 voor ongeveer 40.000 leerlingen, wat neerkomt op 3.750 euro per kind.<\/p>\n

Ook deze puzzel moet elk jaar opnieuw worden samengesteld, omdat ongeveer een kwart van de leerlingen van school verandert, verhuist of afstudeert.<\/p>\n

Niet meer dan 90 minuten<\/h4>\n

Een belangrijk aspect hierbij is de doelstelling dat een enkele rit niet langer dan 90 minuten mag duren, maar De Lijn kan nog niet zeggen in hoeverre dit is gerealiseerd. Het werk is echter nog niet voltooid. Gewoonlijk komen er in de loop van de maand nog enkele honderden aanmeldingen binnen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe vervoeren elke leerling die recht heeft op busvervoer\u201d, zegt de woordvoerder van De Lijn. \u201cMaar het blijft altijd een hele puzzel.\u201d Daardoor kan de route veranderen, wat gevolgen heeft voor de tijden waarop andere leerlingen kunnen in- en uitstappen. En voor de extra leerling(en) is mogelijk een andere, grotere bus nodig<\/p>\n

Centralisatie van klachten<\/h4>\n

Vorig schooljaar vond er een dodelijk ongeval plaats waarbij een schoolbus betrokken was bij een spoorwegovergang in Buggenhout. Achteraf bleek dat er al eerder klachten waren geweest over het rijgedrag van de buschauffeur, maar dat deze niet bij De Lijn waren terechtgekomen.<\/p>\n

Daarom is De Lijn van plan alle klachten te centraliseren. De organisatie houdt al een register bij van klachten die rechtstreeks bij haar binnenkomen en vraagt nu vervoerders, scholen en ouders om alle klachten die zij ontvangen of in hun bestand hebben, door te sturen.<\/p>\n

Hoe dan ook, vanaf het schooljaar 2028-2029 zal het leerlingenvervoer in het speciaal onderwijs grondig worden herzien.<\/p>\n

Nog \u00e9\u00e9n ding: De Lijn raadt gebruikers aan om de route en de vertrektijd in de app of op de website te controleren, aangezien het enkele weken kan duren voordat de nieuwe reispatronen volledig duidelijk zijn en er nog aanpassingen kunnen worden doorgevoerd.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
