Dankzij een nieuwe software-update in februari aangekondigd<\/a> Sinds dit jaar kan de oplaadaansluiting van de Volvo EX30 eindelijk ook externe apparaten van stroom voorzien. Naast deze Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)-functie beschikt de compacte elektrische auto, die wordt gebouwd in de De Belgische Volvo-fabriek in Gent<\/a> voor bepaalde markten is er ook Plug & Charge beschikbaar.<\/p>\n

De software-update waarmee V2L wordt ge\u00efntroduceerd, komt beschikbaar voor bestaande EX30\u2019s van modeljaar 2026 en later. Deze update wordt de komende weken uitgerold naar Europese klanten. Eigenaren die gebruik willen maken van de nieuwe functie, moeten een externe V2L-adapter aanschaffen. Deze wordt aangesloten op de oplaadpoort van de auto en fungeert als een 230V-stopcontact.<\/p>\n

Volgens Volvo zal V2L de EX30 omtoveren tot een \u201cgrote powerbank\u201d. De auto zal apparaten zoals een koffiezetapparaat of een televisie van stroom kunnen voorzien, of een elektrische fiets kunnen opladen. De EX30 levert een vermogen van 3 kW. Wanneer de laadstatus (SOC) van de accu daalt tot 20%, wordt de externe stroomtoevoer onderbroken.<\/p>\n

Te laat op het feestje<\/b><\/h4>\n

De EX30 is het tweede Volvo-model dat V2L aanbiedt, na de grotere EX60. Het merk kondigt aan dat meer van zijn modellen zullen volgen. In zijn persbericht stelt Volvo dat de EX30 \u201ceen van de eerste modellen in het compacte premiumsegment is die deze technologie aanbiedt\u201d. Maar aangezien V2L via een software-update wordt ge\u00efmplementeerd, was de benodigde hardware al in de EX30 ingebouwd. Waarom werd deze mogelijkheid dan niet al vanaf de lancering aangeboden?<\/p>\n

Modellen van de zustermerken van Volvo bieden V2L zelfs al veel langer aan. Volvo Cars maakt deel uit van de Geely-groep, samen met onder andere Smart, Zeeker en Lynk & Co.<\/p>\n

Ze maken gebruik van dezelfde SEA-architectuur als Volvo in de EX30. De Slim #1<\/a> en #3<\/a> zijn sinds een OTA-update die in juli 2024 werd uitgerold compatibel met V2L. En de Zeekr X<\/a> en Lynk & Co 02<\/a> bieden deze functionaliteit ook aan.<\/p>\n

Beperkt gebruik<\/b><\/h4>\n

Bovendien leveren de Smart-modellen 3,7 kW, terwijl de andere twee merken 3,3 kW leveren en de EX30 beperkt is tot 3,0 kW. En dat kan van belang zijn voor elektrisch gereedschap of andere apparaten die meer stroom verbruiken.<\/p>\n

Voor een aantal kopers van de EX30 zal V2L wellicht helemaal niet beschikbaar zijn. Auto's die v\u00f3\u00f3r modeljaar 2026 zijn verkocht, worden op dit moment niet genoemd. En in de offici\u00eble release-opmerkingen bij softwareversie 2.1.2 staat dat de update momenteel in sommige markten niet beschikbaar is voor Ultra-modellen die zijn uitgerust met de 22 kW-lader. Of de functionaliteit op een later tijdstip alsnog wordt toegevoegd of helemaal van de baan is, valt nog te bezien.<\/p>\n

Andere wijzigingen in dezelfde OTA-update<\/b><\/h4>\n

Hoewel Volvo zich richt op V2L, worden in het persbericht ook andere wijzigingen genoemd die in dezelfde update worden doorgevoerd. Zo wordt Plug & Charge beschikbaar gemaakt voor de EX30. Dit betekent dat gebruikers in bepaalde markten en bij sommige openbare laadpunten niet langer hun laadkaart hoeven te tonen of een app hoeven te gebruiken om het laden te starten. Sluit de stekker gewoon aan, en de auto geeft de betalingsgegevens door aan het laadpunt.<\/p>\n

De update biedt bovendien een nieuwe gebruikerservaring met meer aanpassingsmogelijkheden op het centrale scherm.<\/p>\n
