Naast de eerder aangekondigde afbouw van 50.000 banen voorziet het plan in de geleidelijke afbouw van nog eens 50.000 banen, en zullen vier Duitse fabrieken worden gesloten.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"nl-BE\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Met <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">de overeenkomst over <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">VW-topman Oliver Blume\u2019s <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2026\/07\/27\/volkswagen-q2-profit-down-33-ceo-sounds-the-alarm-bell-again\/\">Toekomstplannen\u00a0<\/a>2030 \u2019, <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">van de groep<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> raad van commissarissen <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">bereidt voor <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">de<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> meest<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0ag<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">g<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ingrijpende herstructurering in haar 89-jarige geschiedenis. <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Met de extra 50.000 banen die worden geschrapt, komt het totaal op 100.000, wat neerkomt op ongeveer 15% van <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">VW<\/span> <span lang=\"en-US\">G<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">het totale personeelsbestand van de groep. Wanneer en hoe deze ontslagen zullen plaatsvinden, is nog onderwerp van discussie. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>De overeenkomst voorkomt een openlijke confrontatie tussen het bedrijf en het personeel. Althans, voorlopig. De vakbonden willen dat de groep alle opties in overweging neemt en de standpunten van alle fabrieken in kaart brengt om zo veel mogelijk banen te redden.<\/p>\n<h4>\u2018<b>\u2019Alternatieve toepassingen' voor vier Duitse fabrieken<\/b><\/h4>\n<p lang=\"nl-BE\"><span lang=\"en-US\">De situatie van de groep is nijpend, onder meer als gevolg van dalende winsten door overcapaciteit, hevige concurrentie van Chinese merken in Europa en de VS, en Amerikaanse invoerheffingen<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">.<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/nl\/2026\/06\/19\/volkswagen-to-cut-50-000-jobs-blume-says-real-problem-is-relevance\/\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Oliver B<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">lume<\/span><\/a> <span lang=\"en-US\">samenvatte de situatie eerder als volgt: <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u201c<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">a <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u201deen bedrijfsmodel dat tegenwoordig niet meer werkt\u201d. De raad heeft nu besloten om alternatieve bestemmingen voor de fabrieken te onderzoeken.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Focus op winstgevendheid<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Om kosten te besparen, streeft de raad van bestuur er ook naar het modellengamma van de verschillende merken binnen de groep drastisch in te krimpen. Ongeveer 50% van het merkaanbod zal tegen 2035 verdwijnen, waarbij de nadruk meer komt te liggen op winstgevende modellen die in grote aantallen worden geproduceerd. Dit betekent ook dat de complexiteit van de productie met 75% zal worden teruggebracht.<\/p>\n<p>Er staan ook organisatorische veranderingen op stapel, met een slanker management om meer flexibiliteit en snellere besluitvorming mogelijk te maken. Daarnaast is de groep van plan te investeren om haar merken te versterken en haar concurrentievermogen te vergroten door middel van verbeterde technologie. Daartoe zal tussen 2027 en 2031 135 miljard euro worden uitgetrokken voor onderzoek en ontwikkeling.<\/p>\n<p>Het doel is om tegen 2030 jaarlijks 9 miljoen voertuigen te verkopen met een operationele marge van 9%. In de eerste helft van 2026 daalde de operationele marge van de groep tot 3,8%.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Politieke context<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>De overeenkomst voorkomt een buitengewone aandeelhoudersvergadering, die tot een explosieve situatie had kunnen leiden. De goedkeuring van de Duitse deelstaat Nedersaksen kan worden gezien als een manier om dit te voorkomen. De deelstaat bezit 20% van de aandelen van de VW-groep en beschikt over een vetorecht.
