Een daarvan zijn elektrische auto\u2019s.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>De verkoop van volledig elektrische en plug-in hybride auto's in Rusland is tussen juni en augustus van dit jaar meer dan verdubbeld en gestegen tot 26.543 stuks. Dit komt neer op een stijging van 118 procent.<\/p>\n<p>De oorzaak ligt niet bij milieuregelgeving of het enthousiasme van consumenten voor schoon vervoer. Het komt door de benzinerantsoenering en de rook van de raffinaderijen. Door Oekra\u00efense drone-aanvallen zijn 24 van de 33 grootste Russische olieraffinaderijen buiten werking gesteld, waardoor het land niet meer in staat is om voldoende ruwe olie te verwerken voor zijn eigen automobilisten.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Stijgend, maar nog steeds laag<\/h4>\n<p>Het spreekt voor zich dat deze cijfers in de juiste context moeten worden geplaatst. Want zelfs na deze sterke stijging maken plug-invoertuigen slechts ongeveer zes procent uit van de totale autoverkoop in Rusland. Rusland is al lange tijd \u2013 en is nog steeds \u2013 een achtergebleven gebied op het gebied van elektrische mobiliteit. Als een van \u2019s werelds grootste olieproducenten hield het de binnenlandse benzineprijzen laag genoeg om elke prikkel tot elektrificatie te ontmoedigen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Maar ironisch genoeg werkt Poetins oorlog in Oekra\u00efne en zijn obsessie met strategie\u00ebn rond fossiele brandstoffen averechts, zoals blijkt uit de hernieuwde belangstelling voor elektrische auto\u2019s. Hetzelfde ongewenste neveneffect is te zien in de VS, waar Trumps oorlog tegen het olierijke Iran de binnenlandse belangstelling voor elektrische auto\u2019s weer doet opleven vanwege de torenhoge prijzen aan de pomp.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Een scherpe doorn in het oog<\/h4>\n<p>De afgelopen maanden zijn Oekra\u00efense troepen diep het Russische luchtruim binnengedrongen om energie-infrastructuur aan te vallen. Dit heeft geleid tot lange rijen bij benzinestations, regionale beperkingen op de verkoop van brandstof en een overheidsverbod op de export van benzine. Voor een land waarvan de economie draait op ruwe olie, is dit een flinke doorn in het oog.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel de populariteit van elektrische auto\u2019s in Rusland nog steeds bescheiden is, laat het land wel op bijzondere wijze zien wat consumenten daadwerkelijk kan aanzetten tot de overstap naar elektrificatie. Er zijn geen binnenlandse emissievoorschriften of aankoopsubsidies die deze verschuiving stimuleren. De drijfveer is puur praktisch: het tanken van een auto met verbrandingsmotor is onhandig, onzeker en duur geworden.<\/p>\n<p>Of dit momentum aanhoudt, blijft uiteraard onduidelijk. Als de raffinagecapaciteit wordt hersteld of als brandstofrantsoenering de norm wordt, kan de directe druk op kopers afnemen en hen ertoe aanzetten om weer voor verbrandingsmotoren te kiezen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Een vermomde Dongfeng<\/h4>\n<p>Ondertussen blijft de Russische markt voor elektrische auto\u2019s teleurstellend, met slechts zo\u2019n tien modellen. De meeste daarvan zijn Chinees, lokaal geproduceerd of ge\u00efmporteerd uit het buurland. Maar zelfs zonder fabrieksondersteuning zijn sommige modellen grijze import.<\/p>\n<p>De Chinese Evolute i-Joy is de bestverkochte BEV, een in Rusland gebouwde SUV die is afgeleid van een Chinees model van Dongfeng en ongeveer een derde van de markt in beslag neemt.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel Rusland een oliestaat is, groeit de laadinfrastructuur met 20% per jaar, met een netwerk dat momenteel tussen de 8.000 en 10.000 laadpunten telt. Deze zijn echter sterk geconcentreerd rond de grootstedelijke gebieden en bestrijken bij lange na niet het uitgestrekte grondgebied van het land.<\/p>\n<p>De stijging van de verkoopcijfers van elektrische auto\u2019s in Rusland laat zien wat er echt toe doet: elektrificatie is de enige weg naar energieonafhankelijkheid, aangezien de stroom uit verschillende bronnen kan worden opgewekt, vari\u00ebrend van waterkracht tot kernenergie, windenergie, zonne-energie en gascentrales.
